illa Mae Eul, 91, passed to heaven on June 25, 2015. She will rest in peace in the love of her Lord Jesus Christ with her beloved family and friends that have saved a place of honor and love for her. She was born July 13, 1923 in Smithton, Missouri to Joseph Wilson and Nancy Ola Elizabeth McCoy. Willa Mae served as a nurse/technician WAC in the U.S. Army during WWII. She made two transatlantic voyages bringing war brides and their babies to the U.S. and at the end of the war she served at U.S. Army Rhoades Gen. Hosp. in Utica, New York helping injured, disabled,and recovering G.I.s. This is where Robert Bentley Eul was recovering from 3 years held as a POW in Japan, having been captured at Corregidor. He pursued Willa Mae until he won her heart forever and they were married Dec. 10, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. Robert remained in the military for twenty years, retiring as MSgt in the U.S Air Force in 1959. During those military years Willa Mae and Robert had six of their nine children and were stationed in New York, Colorado, Florida, England, and California.After the military they lived in Missouri, California, New York, New Jersey, and Maryland. After Robert passed to heaven in 1984, Willa Mae lived in Maryland, Georgia, Ohio, and then in Guthrie, OK since 2008. Willa Mae’s greatest pleasure in life was raising her children and the love of her family. She was a dedicated letter writer and communicator and looked forward to her daily mail call and phone calls. She was a devoted Catholic, and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Guthrie, Oklahoma. Willa Mae loved everyone and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Willa Mae is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Joseph Paul McCoy, and daughter Patricia Lorraine. She is survived by eight children, Robert Bentley Eul and wife Bonnie of Cherry Valley, California, Sandra Jean Cox and husband Bruce of Sylmar, California, Michael Allen Eul and wife Cheryl of Alliance, Ohio, John Joseph Eul of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Mary Elizabeth Abdy and husband Robert of Kamuela, Hawaii, Alice Marie Collingwood and husband Edgar Dean of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Anthony Neal Eul and wife Yang Ja of Seaside, California, and Daniel Wayne Eul and wife Sarah of Midwest City, Oklahoma; four siblings, Roy Edward McCoy and wife Kazue of Silver Springs, Maryland, Lorenzo Dow McCoy and wife Velma of Harrisonville, Missouri, Gloria Iola DeBusk of West Melbourne, Florida, and Joe Sidney McCoy and wife Sandra of Kansas City, Missouri; twenty grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and a host of other loved family and friends. A viewing will be held 11:30 am to 5 pm on July 1 at Smith-Gallo Funeral Home in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Willa Mae's Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD with a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10:45 a.m. at the Old Post Chapel, Ft. Myer, VA. Willa Mae will be interred with military honors at approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 with her loving husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
