William "Dave" David Colburn - Obituary

illiam David Colburn “Dave”, 68, passed away on August 6, 2026, in Annapolis, MD. Born on December 22, 1957, he was a 40-year resident of Edgewater, MD. Following Dave’s time at Annapolis High School, he went on to start his own business; Colburns’ Grass Cutting and retired in 2020. He enjoyed many different activities such as roller-skating, crabbing, working in the yard, wood crafting, poker with his family, and slots. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Mae (neé-Bryan) Hardesty, Kenneth Hardesty, and William W. Colburn. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Stephanie Colburn; his brother, Ray (Lisa) Hardesty of Centreville, MD; his sister, Missy (Johnny) Coursey of Centreville, MD; his nieces, Ashley Buckmaster, Brittany DeShields, and Kayla Hardesty; his nephew, Nick Hardesty; as well as many great nieces and nephews. Dave battled dementia for 6 years before his savior called him home. He loved to laugh and loved to talk to anyone. He was fun-loving and easy-going and had a beautiful smile, he was truly loved by all. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dave’s life on Friday, August 14 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD where a funeral service will be held at 12 PM. Interment will follow the service at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W Central Ave, Davidsonville, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
