illiam Francis Belt, "Billy," 43, a lifelong resident of Edgewater, died on February 16 at his home in Edgewater.
Born March 22, 1970 in Annapolis, to the late Robert and Arlene Belt, he was a 1988 graduate of South River High School, and worked as a press assistant for McArdle Printing for 15 years.
Billy was a member of American Legion Post 226 and a member of DC Printing Union Local 72. Billy looked forward to football season and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending his children’s sporting events and swimming with them in the pool. His other hobbies included fishing, boating, grilling, playing pool and going to the beach.
He is survived by his children, Austin and Nathan Belt of Edgewater and Katie Murphy of Shadyside; one brother, Robert “Bobby” Belt Jr. of Edgewater; two sisters, Stacey Coyle of Davidsonville and Donna Griffith of Edgewater; and his former spouse, Michelle Clark Belt.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, February 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
