O

n August 1, 2015 William “Henry” Clifton, Jr. passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD. Henry was 86 years old and was born October 4, 1928 in Washington, D.C.; the first son of William Henry Clifton, Sr. and Adaline (Clifton) Havenner. Henry farmed his entire life, retired as a pressman at Judd & Detwiller in Washington, D.C. He was a member of Local Union No. 72, a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Accokeek, MD. and a Mason. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary; his children, Jane McCloy and her husband Steve, Jake and his wife Carla, Billy and his wife Kathie and his brother Keith. “Pop” was also survived by many loving grandchildren including Jason and his wife Mary, Timmy, Troy, Andy (McCloy), Beth (Clifton) Jones and her husband Kirk and Molly (McCloy) Burgess along with his great grandchildren, Cassidy McCloy, Emily and Jacob Clifton, Gabriella (McCloy) Burgess, Remmie (Clifton) Jones; and his great-great grandchild Cali (McCloy) Crooks. Relatives and friends are invited to Williams's Celebration of Life at the GEORGE P. KALAS FUNERAL HOME, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday August 6 at 11am. Interment St. Barnabas Episcopal Church Cemetery. A special thank you goes to the doctors and staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their loving care of our loved one.
