illiam Stone Finlay, Jr., “Bill”, 83, a 16-year resident of Easton, MD, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2016 at his son’s home in Stevensville.
Born on June 30, 1933 in Baltimore to the late Alice and William Finlay, Sr., Bill graduated from Catonsville High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bill began a career with C&P Telephone Company before venturing off to manage a business of his own, he would finish his career at Metal Goods. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Orioles, Ravens and Colts.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy W. Finlay; two sons, William S. Finlay III of Stevensville, MD and Kevin T. Finlay of Harrisburg, NC; five daughters, Debbie Fisher of Chester, MD, Denise Finlay of Edgewater, MD, Darlene Finlay of Calvert County, MD, Dawn Faulkner of South Carolina and Donna Finlay of Millersville, MD; two brothers, George Finlay of Ocean City, MD and Donald Finlay of Delaware; one sister, Alice Baker of Catonsville and 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to celebrate Bill’s life with his family on Monday, September 19 from 6 p.m. until his funeral service begins at 7:30 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. Interment with military honors will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
