William Watson Friel - Obituary

n Saturday, March 28, 2020 at AAMC, Bill Friel passed peacefully due to complications from Lung Cancer. Bill was born in Bethesda, MD and resided in Sunderland, MD. He worked for Citizens Bank of Maryland, and was actively involved with Melwood Horticultural Center for 35 years. He retired early at the age of 52, and enjoyed retirement to the fullest doing the three things he enjoyed most in life—playing lots of golf, taking his family to Disney World, and watching his grandchildren compete in sports and dance. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jane; 2 children, Robert (Kari) and Kelly Fleming (Tony); 8 grandchildren, Payton, Drew, Morgan, Rex, Madelyn, Ty, Abigayle, and Bradi. He is also survived by his sister Carole Moreland of Port St. Lucie, FL as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
