William Kitzmiller - Obituary

. Michael Kitzmiller, noted environmentalist and sailor, died August 10th. As legislative counsel for Congressmen John Dingell, Richard Ottinger and Ogden Reid, he was instrumental in laying the legislative and judicial foundations for U.S. environmental law. He was chief strategist for the Storm King Mountain (Hudson River) case establishing citizens' right to sue to protect scenic values. His wife of 59 years, Lynn Grey Kitzmiller (nee Fisher), died May 16. They are survived by daughters, Virginia, Elizabeth and Katherine Kitzmiller and grandson Christopher Peavy. A memorial service will be held at St. James Parish, Lothian, MD at a later date. Updated funeral information will be updated when available.
