illiam Aaron Lorenz, 80, of Annapolis and formerly of Memphis, Tennessee; Catonsville, Maryland, and Ohio died April 2, 2008 at his home of complications from Parkinson's Disease.
Born August 13, 1927 in Coshocton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Aaron and Ivy Lorenz.
During World War II, he served in Germany with the U.S. Army Adjutant General's Office and was honorably discharged in 1947. In 1974, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Baltimore and then in 1978, he received a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Memphis.
Mr. Lorenz was an Industrial Traffic Manager for W. R. Grace Co. in Baltimore, MD and Memphis, TN for 40 years. After retiring from Grace in 1990, he joined the Tire Battery Corporation.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Chandler Lorenz, whom he married in 1951, one daughter, Karen Karos, two grandsons, Alexander and Nicholas Karos, all of Annapolis, MD and one sister, Diann Souslin, of Coshocton, OH.
An active member of Eastport United Methodist Church, he also volunteered at Eastport Elementary School. His hobbies included waterfowl woodcarving, gardening, and spending time with his family. He was an avid collector of whistles.
Friends may visit at the Eastport United Methodist Church, 926 Bay Ridge Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21403 on Sunday, April 6, from 5:00 until 7:30 P.M.. Funeral services will be held at the church on Monday, April 7, at 11:00 A.M.. Burial will be private.
