n Loving Memory of William R. (Bobby) Mann, GG, PG, co-founder and loyal president of DCGIA chapter as well as co-founder
of the International Ivory Society. He will be missed but not forgotten. Bobby died suddenly on July 20, 2015 at his residence.

Bobby’s lifelong experiences and knowledge of Ivory and Ivory substitutes reflects his great enthusiasm and passion for Ivory and everything related to it. Author and Educator of "Ivory Identification- A Photographic Companion" he shared his
passion openly with us all. Since 1996 he had been teaching ivory identification through his talks, seminars and hands-on workshops.
Formally retired as Captain of the Washington DC Fire Department after 28 years of service, he is also past president of the National Capital Area Chapter of the International Society of Appraisers and president of the Washington, DC Chapter
of the Gemological Institute of America Alumni.
