William McGuire - Obituary

illiam Anthony McGuire, age 66, a 36 year resident of Edgewater, MD died on Sunday, November 20 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a courageous nineteen month battle against leukemia and lymphoma. Born on November 25, 1944 in Washington, D.C., to the late Frances and Malcolm H. McGuire. Sr., Bill attended Holy Comforter grade school in Washington and was a 1963 graduate of Bladensburg High School. He owned and operated Beacon Plumbing of Edgewater, MD until his retirement in 2007. Bill loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather and he enjoyed spending time at his vacation home in Satellite Beach, FL. Bill shared his love and enthusiasm for the ocean with everyone he knew. An avid surfer, he made surfboards for himself and others. Bill is survived by his wife, Elaine McGuire who he married in 1966; a daughter, Colleen Boggs of Edgewater, MD; a son, Greg McGuire of Knoxville, TN; a brother, Malcolm H. “Mac” McGuire, Jr. of Mechanicsville, MD and a grandson, William Boggs of Edgewater, MD. Friends are invited to Bill’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, November 25 from 7 to 9pm, where funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 26 at 10am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
