William D. Spicer - Obituary

illiam “Bill” Dwight Spicer, 69, a 39-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Colmar manor, MD died on Friday, January 08, 2010 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House of cancer after a lengthy illness. Born August 21, 1940 in Culpeper, VA, he graduated from Bladensburg Jr. & Sr. High School. Bill was employed was a trucker driver for McLean Trucking Co. from 1964-77 and Consolidated Freightways from 1979-2001. Bill served in the United States Navy as a seaman. He was a member of Teamsters Local 639 in Washington, D.C. His hobbies included boating and fishing. The beloved father of Allen Spicer of Edgewater, MD, Mark Spicer of Annapolis, MD, Missy Spicer of Minden, LA, Brad Spicer of Severn, MD and Dawn Spicer of Washington, D.C.; brother of Walker Bowen of Falls Church, VA and George Bowen of Middletown, VA, Nancy Franklin of Langley, OK and Virginia Deal of Culpeper, VA; grandfather of R.C. Spicer of Edgewater, MD and Alison and Stephen Spicer of Wahiawa, HI. Friends are invited to Bill's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Friday, January 15 from 2pm until his Memorial Service begins at 3pm. Interment private.
