illie Mae Farr Willie Mae Farr, 85, a 55yr. resident of Edgewater and previously of Harwood, died on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood. Willie Mae was born on May 31, 1925 in Sussex County, Virginia to the late Otha and Harriet Jarrett. She worked as a Sales Clerk for 18 years at G.C. Murphy in Annapolis. Willie Mae was a 30 year member of First Baptist Church of Edgewater, and volunteered as a Food Manager for the Southern Maryland Beagle Club. Her hobbies included cooking, bowling Bible Study and Beagling. Willie Mae was predeceased by her husband, Melvin R. Farr, Sr., whom she married in November of 1941, her son Earl T. Farr, and her siblings Junior and Edna Jarrett. She is survived by her daughters Marie E Nicewarnor of Atlanta, Georgia, Sharon A. Horn of Edgewater, MD and her sons Bruce A. Farr of Atlanta, Georgia and Melvin R. Farr, Jr. of Winter Springs, Florida; her brother Mike Jarrett of Daytona, Florida and Pauline Pully of Hopewell, Virginia. Also survived by her granddaughters, Barbara Dashnor, Tammy Horn, Sheryl Pritchard, Donna Stanley, Heather Nicewarner , and Kristy Suomela and her grandsons Steve and Jimmy Nicewarner, Reecle C. Horn, Jr. and Melvin R. Farr, III and 17 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to Willie Mae’s Life Celebration on Sunday from 1-3 & 5-7pm at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, Maryland where funeral services will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11am. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
