Jean is preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Ford, Jr. Wilma, “Jean” to Marylanders, grew up on the family farm in Rose Hill, Va., the daughter of Dewey Admiral Fee and Martha Whisman Fee. She was educated in the Lee County, Virginia Public school system attending Pleasant View Grade School . After graduating from Thomas Walker High School she moved to Maryland and worked for the Federal Government. After moving to Maryland she met her husband, Robert, “Bobby” to most, and they were married on June 14, 1946 at Nichols Memorial Bethel Methodist Church in Odenton, Maryland. She enjoyed being a wife, mother and homemaker. Jean was a member of the Birdsville-Davidsonville Homemakers Association and attended the Annapolis Christian Women’s Society. She started attending Davidsonville Methodist in 1950 where she was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, sang in the Senior Choir and served on the Care and Nurture Committee along with various other ministries. The highlight of each year was to visit her parents and family in Rose Hill where she shared many fun times with her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many cousins. After retiring from the Income Tax Division for the State of Maryland for 25 years she and Bobby also enjoyed traveling the United States with friends. She also loved flower gardening which was evident when you drove up to their home in Birdsville. Jean loved her family and took great pride in fixing the Sunday Dinner gatherings as well as all the Holiday celebrations. Jean was the true matriarch of the Ford family, loved and respected by each family member. Funeral arrangements will be private.
