Wilson Dove - Obituary

ilson Howard Dove, Jr., "Doll Baby", a lifelong resident of Harwood, MD died on Friday, March 11, 2016. He was 89. Born September 8, 1926, he served in the U.S. Army. For 43 years, Wilson rose through the ranks of the Anne Arundel County Bureau of Highways, first as a laborer and finally retiring as a supervisor. He enjoyed playing slot machines in Dover, DE and being involved with the Patapsco-Ridge Beagle Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, of over 50 years, Hilda Dove in 2004; a son, Wilson H. Dove, III; a daughter, Katherine Dove; and two brothers, John Henry and Richard Dove. Wilson is survived by his children, Michael (Kathy) Dove of Harwood, MD, David Dove of Dunkirk, MD, Patricia (Ken) Brown of Edgewater, MD, Sandra (William) Fowble of Davidsonville, MD and Melissa Dove of Harwood, MD; two siblings, Dorothy League of Annapolis, MD and Alvin Dove of Harwood; and 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Friends are invited to celebrate Wilson's life at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Tuesday, March 15 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm and on Wednesday, March 16 from 10am until his funeral service begins at 11am.
