inetta Haggerty Byrnes, “Wynn”, 99, a five-year resident of Ginger Cove in Annapolis, and previously of Silver Spring and Washington, D.C., died on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness. Born May 30, 1915 in Washington, D.C., to the late Thomas and Josephine Nicholson Walker, she was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School in Washington, D.C. Wynn was a homemaker, whose interests included playing cards, bowling, golf, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Wynn was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Byrnes in 1982 and John Haggerty in 1945. She is survived by her son Thomas (Etta Sue) Haggerty of Gambrills, her grandchildren John (Jennifer) Haggerty of Needham, MA, Colleen Haggerty Knight (Stephen) of Inverness, Scotland and Brendan (Kerry) Haggerty of Cary, NC. Also survived by her six great-grandchildren; Caitlin and Ciara Haggerty, Stephen and James Knight and Molly and Cullen Haggerty. A private graveside service will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 28 at 1pm at the Ginger Cove Maryland Room, 4000 River Crescent Drive Annapolis, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Daughters of Charity Sisters' Retirement Fund, 333 S.
