Zona Rollins - Obituary

ona Mae Rollins, 78, a 40-year resident of Edgewater, MD died on December 10, 2010 at her home of natural causes. Born April 19, 1932 in Washington, D.C., to the late Nora and John Willie Harville. Zona loved bowling, bingo, watching game shows and spending time with her grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Milton Joseph Rollins, Sr., whom she married on May 10, 1951; 5 sons, Kenneth Eugene Rollins of Lusby, MD, John Willie Rollins of Edgewater, MD, Milton Joseph Rollins, Jr. of Melbourne, FL, George James Rollins of Prince Frederick, MD and Charles Edward Rollins of Savannah, GA; 1 daughter, Donna Dee Brown of Edgewater, MD; she is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Robert Allen Rollins; one brother, George, 4 sisters, Gertrude, Helen, Vivian and Anna. Friends are invited to Zona’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Thursday, December 16 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. Per Zona’s wishes her body was donated to science for medical research. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 211 East Lombard St, #260, Baltimore, Maryland 21202.
