Granville R. Boland, a resident of Annapolis since 1969, died on April 20, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
 
Born December 27, 1933 in Baltimore, to the late John C. and Mildred M. Boland, he retired from Verizon and the United States Naval Academy. Granville was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge# 70 in Crownsville.
 
He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Lucy Hall in February 2010.
 
Granville is survived by a sister, Mary M. Smolek; three nephews and two nieces.
 
Friends are invited to Granville’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater on Tuesday from 6 to 8pm, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 25 at 10am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058 or Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
