ames Edward (Jim) Kelley, a 60-year resident of Oxon Hill, Maryland passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026 at the age of 90. Born on November 8, 1935, Jim grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He met his future wife, Lori, while still living there, and they fell in love and married. Shortly after their marriage, Jim entered the United States Air Force, where he specialized in radar and electronics. He was assigned to Otis Air Force Base, served in Vietnam during the war, and eventually completed his 20+ year distinguished Air Force career at Andrews Air Force Base working on the presidential fleet of aircraft. Following his military retirement, Jim opened his own home improvement business. He built a strong reputation for quality workmanship and had many happy clients over the years. Jim was deeply committed to his family and often lived by the saying “Family First.” He was also a lifelong jokester who never missed an opportunity to bring humor into the lives of those around him. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Anna and Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lori; his son Michael (Helen) and daughters Sandra (Bob) Fisher, Sharon, Shirley (Vince) Lynott and Sheila (Tim) Hession. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him Pops. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date at the Old Post Chapel on Ft. Myer, VA followed by inurnment in Arlington National Cemetery. Please check back periodically for updates.
