Thomas Richard Neumann passed away suddenly on September 18, 2019 in Annapolis, Maryland due to complications from multiple health issues. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut to Arthur Neumann and Pearl Anderson Neumann on July 17, 1945.

Tom grew up in southern California and after graduation from Duarte High School in 1963, he received his BA from the University of LaVerne. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Business from National University in San Diego, CA.

Tom had a 45-year career in the aerospace industry, the majority of which was spent with Lockheed Martin where he specialized in procurement and contracts and won many awards for his managerial excellence working on projects like the Manned Maneuvering Unit, an astronaut propulsion unit used in three Space Shuttle missions.

Tom met his wife Donna in college and they were married on September 5, 1969. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by family, which was always the most important thing in his life. He worked hard to care for those closest to him and always let them know how much they were loved.

Tom is survived by his wife Donna Louise Neumann; his daughter Kimberly Dawn Neumann of New York, NY;  his son Terry Alexander Neumann, daughter-in-law Regina Petruzzi Neumann, granddaughter Maia Isabella Neumann and grandson Dominic Thomas Neumann of Round Hill, VA; his mother Pearl Anderson Neumann; his sister Doreen Rice (brother-in-law Brian Rice); his sister Pamela Murphy (brother-in-law Bill Murphy); his sister-in-law Sandra Claflin-Chalton; his nephew Carl Rice; and many dear friends.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday September 29, 2019 at Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater, MD.

Randolph Edward Burke, 60, a 27-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Annapolis, MD, died on Monday, September 16, 2019, at his home of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and Congestive  Heart Failure following a 2-year illness.

Known as Randy or R.B., he was born October 4, 1958, in Washington, D.C., to the late Robert E. and Dorcus H. Burke.  Randy worked as a product manager, carpenter and as a salesman at Tradewinds Marina.  He enjoyed woodworking, boats, cooking, collecting knives, and hunting.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his two sisters, Jeanette Burke "J.B." Music and Sandra Lee Burke
Randy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Hope Burke; a daughter, Amanda Lee Potts of Deale, MD; and a nine-month-old granddaughter, Anora Jaymes Potts.

Richard “Dick” Charles Waring Jr., 69, a 34-year resident of West River, MD, and previously of Arlington, VA, and Albany NY, died at his home on Sunday, September 15, 2019.  Born April 14, 1950, in Tel Aviv, Israel, he was employed as a computer specialist consultant.  Dick enjoyed boating and being on the water. He was a skilled carpenter, who, with help from some others, built their home along the West River. He is survived by his wife of 47 year, Diane Nowak-Waring; and a sister, Brenna Beverly Waring. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 20 at 3 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2793 Solomons Island Rd., also Route 2 North, in Edgewater, MD. Julia Quinto Binsol, 99, a long-time resident of Mrs. Philippines Home for Senior Citizen at Oxon Hill, MD passed away at her residence on Saturday, September 14, 2019. Born on June 19, 1920 in Naic, Cavite, Philippines, Julia was the beloved wife of the late Bien N. Binsol and devoted mother of the late Danilo Binsol. She is survived by her seven (7) children, Felizardo Binsol (Teresita), Melinda Dax (Alex), Nenita Catubo (Joseph), Abelardo Binsol (Evelyn), Lourdes Lloveras (Reynaldo), Armando Binsol, and Ricardo Binsol (Dulce). She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and a number of other loving relatives and friends.

As the family matriarch, Julia was loved and cherished by many. She devoted her life to making sure that the family she raised was a close-knit one who truly love and care for one another. She not only raised her children but also took care of her siblings, nieces, nephews and any other individual who she considered part of her large and continuously growing family. Because of the love and open arms that she extended to all, many considered her a second mother and close confidant. She was a devout Catholic, praying a Rosary every night and a believer that her children should stay true to the values and traditions of Filipino culture. Julia enjoyed socializing with her neighbors, shopping at her favorite stores, and most of all, indulgence especially with her favorite foods, Pepsi, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut. But most of her joy was found in her family, with her face lighting up with a smile every time she received a phone call or visit from any of her loved ones.

Daniel Norris Adams, 58, of Front Royal, VA, previously of Davidsonville passed away on September 14, 2019 at Winchester Medical Center from complications of Cancer.

Daniel was born on June 29, 1961 in Bay County, Florida to the late Joe L. and Billie Jo Adams and proved himself a true Southern Rascal. He was a graduate of South River High School. Daniel was a die-hard Redskins fan and an avid fisherman, a trait he inherited from his late grandfather, Norman Smith of Mobile, AL.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Lynn Adams. He is survived by his siblings; Joe Adams, Jr., Trisha Adams and Lisa Webster and her husband Kim, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Eunice Ann Gilbert, 81 of Ft. Washington, MD passed away on September 14, 2019. Born on October 16, 1937 to the late Samuel Gilbert and Marie Davis in Washington D.C.

Eunice was a resident of Ft. Washington, MD for over 35 years. She was a Pediatric Registered Nurse who had retired from working at the Pediatric Associates of Alexandria, and Children's Hospital in Washington D.C.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and pediatric nursing. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, and the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Ladies of Charity. 

Eunice is survived by a Brother, John Gilbert (Donna), and her Goddaughter, Valisha Jackson.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Ft. Washington, MD on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 10:30 am. Interment will be private.

Verna "Vern" R. Pierce, 94, a resident of Annapolis/Edgewater, MD for over 50-years and previously of Pittsburgh area, died on Monday, September 9, 2019, in Easton, MD, of congestive heart failure.  Born December 28, 1924 in Buffalo, NY, she worked as a small business owner.  Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Pierce and her daughter, Sherri L. Pierce. Michael McCarthy Lynn, of Davidsonville, MD, died on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore, MD.  He was born November 12, 1976, to Linden Lynn and the late Chic Lynn. Margaret “Betty” Starlings Spurgin, 97, of Annapolis and formerly of Towson, MD passed away on September 7, 2019. She was born on May 14, 1922 in Baltimore to the late Joseph and Nena Starlings. Betty was a graduate of Eastern High School and the Bard Avon Secretarial School in Baltimore. She worked in administrative roles for both the IRS and Baltimore County Public Schools. 

After her retirement, Betty enjoyed volunteering, particularly at Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Davidsonville United Methodist Church. She also spent her days traveling, reading, cooking, sewing, rooting for the Orioles and most importantly spending time with her family. She took her grandchildren when they were young on special vacations that will be forever cherished. 

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Charles D. Spurgin, Sr.; and her brother Joseph Starlings, Jr. She is survived by her three children, Barbara (Dan) Colacicco of Riva, Charles, Jr. (Leslie) Spurgin of Owego, NY, and Evelyn Spurgin (Gary Christopher) of Edgewater. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren.  

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14 at 3 PM at Davidsonville United Methodist Church, 819 Central Ave., Davidsonville, Md.  Before the service there will be a memorial gathering at the church from 2 – 3 PM. Interment for Betty will be private. Gloria DiZebba Kendall, 89, a resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Stuart, FL, earned her wings and went to heaven peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 6, 2019, following complications stemming from a stroke and cancer.  She was born on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1930, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Gemma and Fioravante DiZebba.  Gloria enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing and many pleasant times on the Chesapeake Bay with her family on their boat.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Geaton, Michael, and Rita DiZebba, Elizabeth Latini, and Marie Earnshaw.  Gloria is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 67 years, Stanley Robert Kendall; two loving children, Ann Louise Kendall of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and  Steven Robert Kendall of Annapolis, MD; and a sister, Gilda Rapson of Hillcrest Heights, MD. A service will be held at a Holy Family Church, 826 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD on Saturday, October 5 at 11 am.

Catherine Louise Chisholm, “Cathy”, devoted wife and loving mother of two, passed away peacefully in her Davidsonville home on Wednesday, September 4th 2019 at the age of 71. 
 
Born on May 29th, 1948 in Washington, D.C. to Joseph Patrick and Voncille Dwyer (née Lynch), Cathy was the third of five children and the only daughter.  She is a 1966 graduate of Bladensburg High School, where she met her first love and future husband, John Andrew “Andy” Chisholm of Inverness, Scotland, whom she married on March 1st, 1969.  Following her father’s footsteps into government service, Cathy worked for 13 years as a civil servant in the Administrative Office of the U.S. Supreme Court before devoting herself full-time to raising her children.  Never content while idle, she labored tirelessly behind the scenes to propel her husband’s business success and made many sacrifices to ensure her children had the best educational opportunities. 
 
Cathy was passionate about interior design, had a keen eye for fashion, dedicated herself to the loving care of her schnauzers and Australian shepherd, and was an avid lifelong consumer of literature.  She keenly understood the power of the written word, cultivated a sharp, acerbic wit, and bravely confronted life’s inevitable challenges (frequently by way of that wit).  A self-taught chef and discerning gourmand, Cathy’s culinary skills were worthy of James Beard recognition though she’d likely modestly decline the award if offered.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, oldest brother Joseph, and younger brother, Daniel, and is survived by her husband Andrew of 50 years and two children, Cristine and Joshua. A viewing will be held on Sunday, September 8th, 2019 from 2 to 4pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd.,  Edgewater, MD.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 9th, 2019 at 10 am at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, 900 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the D.C. Bobby D. Blue, 81, a 40-year resident of Davidsonville and previously of Kettering, MD, passed away at his home on September 3, 2019 following a brief illness. Born on February 22, 1938 in Washington DC to the late Arthur Peerless and Mattie Ellen Sloan Lynn Blue, Bobby graduated from McKinley Tech High School in Washington, DC and pursued a career in telecommunications.  He enjoyed traveling, especially to Arizona, playing tennis, swimming, music and, most of all, spending time with his family.  His wonderful sense of humor was infectious and will be missed.  In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his brother, Don Blue; two sisters, Norma Jean Welsh and Patricia Ann Alcorn; and his grandson, Patrick Carberry.  Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Martha L. Blue; three devoted daughters, Karen Blue of Cave Creek, AZ, Kathleen Blue of Davidsonville and Lori Blue-Miller of Bowie, MD; one sister, Othell Heath of Lanham, MD; one grandson, Stewart Ross Noyes; two granddaughters, Kelly and Cara Boyer and three great-grandchildren. John O  Dove, SR of Severna Park, MD sadly passed away unexpectedly on Sept 2, 2019. Born 10/08/39 in Annapolis, he resided in Mayo, Md most of his life & Severna Park the last 8 yrs. With deep roots in Mayo, John & family were well known as owners of the rustic “horse cart” produce stand across from Mayo Elementary, for his HVAC company,JO Dove “Country Comfort” Heating & A/C & for his notable & well-loved music performances as a Country/Bluegrass singer,player & fun entertainer. He graduated from Annapolis High School & later Columbia Technical Institute with business study at Strayer College.  His wonderful music-making, however, was a God-given talent, he could play anything by ear and became a skilled multi-instrumentalist & singer with a love of guitar,banjo & mandolin &  his fellow “pickers”. His always ready quick humor & storytelling made him a well known & sought after local entertainer.A former member of Edgewater Ruritans, many summer weekends found him working as volunteer sound engineer for the Circle S Rodeo events out of Easton,MD.  Survived by beloved wife Cynthia (Cindy) Dove of 13 years, brother Edgar Dove (Kathy)of Berryville,Va and  sons John O,Jr (Jay,wife Lorrie)Denton, DE & Joseph A Dove (Joey, wife Martie) Glen Burnie five grandchildren: Tiffany Long (Matthew),Thomas,Mariah,Kiana & Kayleigh Dove as well as 2 great-grandchildren. Also survived by former spouse - Nancy Blythe, Easton,MD. & former spouse, Sandra Vann,now deceased,  beloved mother of Jay & Joey Dove.His was truly a life well-lived,driven by Christian faith,professional skills, music,drawing,love of nature &wildlife and love for family & many friends.He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Lori Ann Langis, 58, a 30-year resident of Edgewater and previously of Bladensburg and Hyattsville, MD, passed away at her home on September 2, 2019. She was born on July 17, 1961 in Prince George’s County, MD to the late Donald and Edith Fitzhugh. Lori enjoyed plants, camping, boating, and eating Maryland crabs. She also loved spending time with her family and cats. In addition to her parents, Lori was preceded in death by her brother Geoffrey Fitzhugh. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard Langis, her sons, Ryan and Jacob Langis, both of Edgewater, her brothers, Gary Fitzhugh of Harwich Port, MA and Donald Fitzhugh, Jr. of Churchton, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandon, Austin, and Caroline Langis.
