Marcia Dianna Moreland, age 64, a longtime resident of Annapolis, MD, passed away peacefully, after a short illness, on Saturday, October 20, 2018.  Born on November 12, 1953, in New Jersey to the late Maurice and Catherine Alton, Marcia graduated from Annapolis High School.  She worked mainly as a homemaker, taking care of her beloved husband and children, along with moonlighting as a bartender and beautician.  Marcia truly loved her children and grandbabies.  She enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins, NASCAR, Line Dancing, and Bowling.  Marcia had an uncanny way of sparking up a conversation with anyone and would always give you her contagious giggle.  She was a member of the American Legion #226 in Mayo, MD as well as The Annapolis Moose Lodge #296, in Annapolis, MD.  

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her step-father, Albert Ritchie.  

Marcia is survived by her husband, Charles T. Moreland ; a daughter, Tina Marie Moreland ; two sons Thomas "T.R." (Michelle) Ray Moreland and their children, Brooke Pettit and Abbey Moreland and Brian Patrick Moreland and his children Travis and Derek Moreland ; two siblings, Kevin (Lisa) Alton and Sheila (Ronnie) Boswell (Ronnie) ;her dear friend, Kenneth Thomas ; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.  

Family, Friends, and others whom Marcia’s life touched are invited to celebrate her life at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD on Sunday, November 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, November 5 at 10:30 am. Lorraine Allene Haislip, a resident of Harwood, MD passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Lorraine was born on December 13, 1945, to the late William and Nellie Logan in South Kingstown, RI. Raised as a beach baby, she frequented “Carpenter Beach” in RI and favorite view was of Block Island. Her love of the ocean and sand in her toes was something she passed on to her family. She was a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for Walter Reed Army Hospital and Blake Construction Company. Caring for people was a passion, and after nursing she continued to love unconditionally both family, friends, and her community. 

Her interests included gardening, crafting and photography of South County farms and nature, especially birds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Linda Winchell.

She is survived by her husband Arthur Haislip, III, her children; Arthur Lee Haislip, IV, Kristin Willsey and husband Steve, Brandon L. Wheeler, Megan Haislip-Jarrett and her husband Butch Jarrett, one sister Lisbeth Gardner. She is also survived by her four grandchildren; Layne and Kaylee Willsey, Logan and Jordan Wheeler, and her beloved companion, Chase.

John Ernest Bellosi, 80, a resident of Vero Beach, FL, died on Saturday October 20, 2018. Born on December 19, 1937 in Washington, DC to the late Amerigo and Ernestine (Briguglio) Bellosi.  John started working at an early age and in 1965 he founded J & J Iron Works in Clinton, MD. He led an active life surrounded by his family and friends. John enjoyed going to his favorite restaurants, thoroughbred horse racing, casinos and betting on football, especially the Redskins. He was passionate about Italian food, cooking for and being with his family and friends and he always liked a good Super Bowl party. John was the loving husband of 33 years of, Susan Leaberry Bellosi; proud father of, Ernestine (Richard) Huff and Cynthia Ashby both of Vero Beach, FL, Lisa (Thomas Bunn) Bellosi of Annapolis, MD, John Bellosi, Jr. of Sunderland, MD, James and Anthony Bellosi both of Clinton, MD and the late Ashley Bellosi and Sharon Hostetler-Bellosi; brother of Joseph (Jean) Bellosi, Rose (Robert) Owens and the late Cecelia Marshall and Marco Bellosi; brother-in-law of Linda Bellosi and grandfather of the late, Anthony, Gabrielle and John Bellosi, III and Brittany Ritenour. Josefina "Joy" Ymzon Ricasa, born in Manila, Philippines on December 16, 1950, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2018 in Clinton, Maryland surrounded by her loving family. She graduated from the Philippine College of Commerce with a degree in Business Management.  In February of 1976, she immigrated to the United States and worked at the Brookings Institute for over 20 years. Joy loved to dance. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the Philippines, and going on cruises.  She especially adored spending time with family and being surrounded by all of her grandnieces and grandnephews.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents Marcelino "Marc" Ricasa and Eduarda "Nellie" Ricasa.  She is survived by her siblings Myrna (Mel-✟) Geronimo, Marcelino "Ricky Bhoy" (Lenny)  Ricasa, Nonette (Bing) Bustamante, Severo "Roy" (Letty) Ricasa, Mary Ann (Charlie) King,  Jesus Edmar (Rosalie) Ricasa, her half-siblings, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Robert Lee Long "Bob", 90, a lifelong DC native and 35-year resident of Mitchellville, MD, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 18, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.

Born February 25, 1928, in Washington, D.C. to the late Elsie and Henry Long, he was the founder of Long Fence.  Bob served his country in World War II in the Merchant Marines and the United States Navy.  He was an avid tennis player who loved nature, the water, crabbing, his dog Bailey and spending time with his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and five siblings, Bob was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Cronin Luther; and two grandchildren, Kimberly Cronin and Bo DePaola.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marlene Long;  three daughters, Sharon Long of Fairfield, IA, Bobbie Lee (Mike) Ritter of Mitchellville, MD, and Jill (John) DePaola of Davidsonville, MD; seven grandchildren, Bill (Lesley) Cronin, Michael (Tara) Ritter, Jr., Bridget (Darren) Burns, Robert (Michelle) Ritter, Matthew (Sharon) Ritter Sr., Katie DePaola, and John DePaola, Jr.; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Gertrude Elizabeth "Gert", "Sis" Cummings, 94, a resident of Mayo, MD for 68 years, died on Wednesday, October 17 at the Country Home Assisted Living in Harwood, MD.

Born on November 12, 1923 in Altoona, PA to the late Anthony and Agnes Greiner, Gert worked for many years with Nationwide Insurance Co. She was a charter lifetime member and past president of American Legion Auxiliary Post 226, a lifetime member of the Kiwanis Club, past president of Ki-Wives of Mayo and a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she also taught CCD to the third graders for 25 years. Gert enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and bingo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Norman Cummings. Gert is survived by her brother, William Greiner of Olney, MD; her children, Robert Cummings of Martinsburg, WV and Nancy Glascoe of Friendship, MD; her grandchildren, Stacey Hawkins and Bryan Glascoe and two great-grandchildren.

Joannis "John" Kyriacou, 92, made sure to take a stroll in his beloved garden to check the tomatoes before passing away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, October 17, 2018. One of the patriarchs of the Greek-Cypriot community in Annapolis, John was born in Yialousa, Cyprus in 1926. As a young teenager, he often walked a donkey five miles to work his family's tobacco and wheat fields, with a bag of onions, garlic, and bread for his lunch. In 1952, he embarked on his own American dream, when his 8-months-pregnant wife and one-year-old son endured a two week voyage on the Italian ship "Saturnia." For 40 years, John owned and operated Royal Valet, a shoe repair shop on West St. in Annapolis. John was an amazing cook, always sending his children and grandchildren home with his lovingly homemade Greek meals, barbecuing on the backyard grill, steaming blue crabs in the basement kitchen, or frying fish he caught himself. John loved when family and friends gathered around the kitchen table, his Greek church, happy hour, Gregorian liturgical chant, building and selling birdhouses from a table in his backyard, vacationing all over the world, the beach at his Ocean City condo, which reminded him of the old country, fighting with DNS at the beach when they not only had the the nerve to FINE him for his undersized fish, but then consfiscated the fish, and tormenting his grandkids with the ever-fearsome "Cypriot Toe-Lock." He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Maria Kyriacou; his daughter, Melanie (Mike) Pantazes; his sons, Jack (Marianne), Nick (Maria) and Zack Kyriacou; his brother-in-law,  Panayotis Papaleonti, ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. Capt. Henry “Hank” James Sanford, USN (Ret.) of Annapolis, Md. passed away on Oct. 16, 2018, from complications of his two decades of surviving cancer. Hank is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Kate, his three daughters, Patty, Katherine, and Mary, and his sister, Pat Tierney. He was deeply devoted to his faith, family, friends, and the Navy. A retired naval captain with 30 years of active duty service, his career highlights included serving as commanding officer of USS Simpson (FFG 56), commanding officer of Naval Station Pearl Harbor, and three tours at the United States Naval Academy (USNA). At USNA, he served as flag secretary to the superintendent, Adm. Charles R. Larson, and as an economics instructor.  He later returned to USNA serving as the executive assistant to Larson during his second tour as the superintendent in the 1990s. After retirement from active duty service in 2002, he culminated his professional career as the chief financial officer at the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation until he retired in 2017. He was also a volunteer official and served on the board of directors for Navy Federal Credit Union for several years. Hank grew up in Alexandria, Va. and graduated from Bishop Ireton High School. He continued his education at St. Bonaventure University and later earned a Masters in Business Administration and Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. His way of creating friendships and loving those close to him was unique and will be missed. In Hank’s words to his daughters, “I hope when you look back years from now you will see the value of a strong family, the rewards of service, and the excitement of work you truly enjoy.” A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, October 30 at 10:00 AM in the Naval Academy’s Main Chapel. A reception will be held immediately following at Dahlgren Hall.

Dermott Lee Hickey, 77, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, MD, died at Anne Arundel Medical Center on Saturday, October 13, 2018, following a lengthy illness.

Known to family and friends as "Dermie," he was born on February 18, 1941, in Annapolis, MD to the late Dermott and Eleanor Hickey.  He was employed as a photographer from 1964 to 2010, an Annapolis police officer from 1982 to 1994, Deputy Harbormaster from 1996 to 2003, and Legislative Services from 2005-2016.  Dermott was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Anne Arundel Fish and Game, and the NRA.  He enjoyed competitive target shooting, model building, and radio controlled cars.

He is survived by his wife, LouAnn Hickey, whom he married on May 12, 1973; three sons, David Hickey of Severn, MD, Tim Hickey of Annapolis, MD, and John Hickey of Chestertown, MD; a brother, Robert Hickey of Baltimore, MD; and nine grandchildren, John, Thomas, James, Joseph, Christianna, Jennifer, Katie, Lillian, and Lucy Hickey.

A Memorial Mass will be offered on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at 10:30 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery, 1911 Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD.  Memorial donations may be made in Dermott's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Leo T. Gibson, 81 of Deale passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018. Leo was born to the late Milton and Margaret Gibson on October 12, 1936 in Owensville, MD. He was a graduate of Southern High School. Leo started his career with Hopkins and Waysons, and ultimately retired after 39 years from International Harvester now known as Navistar.  He was a lifelong member of our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, as well as the Knights of Columbus, and a volunteer fireman in Deale.  Leo enjoyed going out to dinner, riding a four wheeler with his brother, Elmer, playing basketball with his grandkids, and visiting Ocean City, MD with his family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Milton W. Gibson and his sister, Anna Marie Charrier. Leo is survived by his wife of 56 years, Catherine; his daughter, Lisa (Jason) LesCallett of Shady Side; granddaughters, Caitlin, Brooke and Alison LesCallett; brother, Elmer (Barbara) Gibson of Harwood; sister-in-law, Ellen Gibson of Annapolis; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Robert Eugene Thomas 71, of Temple Hills, MD passed away on October 9, 2018 after a long illness. Born on August 4, 1947 to the late Francis E. Thomas and Cecilia M. Thomas. Richard David Bond, 71, of Clinton, MD passed away on October 9, 2018.  Born on May 10, 1947 in Newton, New Jersey to the late Waldo Kenneth Bond and Ruth Elsa Hilliard.
Richard is a Veteran of the United States Navy, who served for 4 years.  He retired as an Accountant.  He was a member of the St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church in Clinton, MD. He was a part of the St. John’s Rosary Group, and the BLD Group.  He enjoyed Church, movies, reading and spending time with his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his Wife, Heidi Bacayo-Bond. Brother, Christopher Bond. Sisters, Eileen Bond Deaver, Kathleen Bond Land, and Jacquelen Kay Bond. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Brother, Ronald Lars Bond, and Sister, Diana Bond Struble.

Frank Anthony Lucente, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Edgewater surrounded by family and close friends on Monday, October 8, 2018. He was 76 years old.

Frank was born in New York to Frank and Maria (Aragona) Lucente, Italian immigrants to America
via Ellis Island. He attended Sewanhaka High School and CW Post College, both on Long Island. He moved to Maryland in the early 1960's to work with his family's real estate development company.

The youngest of five children, Frank was a warm and friendly person with creative vision, driving ambition and unstoppable optimism. He succeeded in developing the first office buildings in Southern Prince George' s County, constructing the Riverview, Law and Lucente Buildings in Oxon Hill, which became home to the US District Court for Maryland as well as Suburban Bank and Dante's Restaurant. He also built the first hotel in the area, originally named the Ramada Hotel Oxon Hill. Frank also assembled all the parcels of land behind his family's home on the Potomac River in Oxon Hill, making way for his dream of a waterfront vibrant with eateries, shops, lodging and piers where citizens could access and enjoy the riverfront area. His dream became a reality with the groundbreaking in 1999 for National Harbor.

Frank treasured his role as father and grandfather. He loved the New York Yankees, the Washington Redskins, and playing craps at area casinos. He was also an avid movie-goer and a fan of good food, especially of the Italian variety.

Frank will be deeply missed and forever loved in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, a large extended family and a lifetime of friends.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Diamond Lee Lucente; a son, Anthony Vernon; and three siblings, John Lucente, Frances Fernandes, and Esther Vricella.

He is survived by four children, Shawn Vernon of Delray Beach, FL, Carla Teresa Lucente, Anna Lucente-Hoffmann, and Gina Lucente Watson, all of Edgewater, MD; a sister, Angela Ferguson of Moriches, NY; seven grandchildren, Ford Hoffmann, Ross Vernon, Frank Lucente Watson, Madison Lucente Newman, Erica Lucente Fierstein, Summer Hoffmann, and Brooke Lucente Watson; and two great-children, Sandler Wollman and Jaslene Vernon.

Elizabeth Mae Winburn "Libby", 88, a resident of Edgewater, MD, died on Monday, October 8, 2018 at the Mandrin Hospice House in Harwood, MD. Born on June 7, 1930 in Bristol, VA to the late Walter and Mae Freeman, Libby retired from Giant Food after 32 years of service. In her earlier years, she enjoyed taking bus trips across the country and sightseeing. Later in life, she enjoyed relaxing, long phone conversations with friends and family, and watching TV, especially Dancing With The Stars. Libby was preceded in death by her son, Rick Hall; her siblings, Virgie Orfield, L. H. “Pete” Freeman, W. C. “Billy” Freeman and N. S. Freeman. She is survived by her grandson, Pete Hall and his wife, Stacey of Edgewater, MD; her step-daughter, Carolyn Ramberg of Virginia and all of her nieces, nephews,  great-nieces and great-nephews. James Michael Stevens Sr., a resident of Shallotte, North Carolina and formerly of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away quietly in his home on October 8, 2018.  He was surrounded and attended by loving family.

Mike was born in Washington, D.C. to Winter Baylis Stevens and Helen (nee Van Ryswick) Stevens on June  19, 1938 in Washington, D.C. and later joined the United States Navy where he served as a radioman.  He married Beverly Ann Naquin on April 26, 1958 in Washington, D.C.  After the Navy, he earned his college degree.  He worked for Bendix Corporation and then joined NASA and worked on every manned space flight program, and in 1983 accepted a position as the NASA representative to Australia and moved to Canberra with Beverly, where they stayed for approximately three years.  He retired from NASA in 1994. 

After retirement he worked as a consultant for several aerospace companies before starting his own consulting company Global Space Communications, Inc. 

In 2007, he retired again and he and Beverly moved to Shallotte where he remained until his passing.

He was a Lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.  Mike and Beverly enjoyed traveling and were able to see a great many places around the world.  He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his many family members.

He is preceded in death by his father Winter B., his mother Helen, brother Daniel, and sister-in-law Carol.  He is survived by his wife Beverly, brother Tony, sister Judy (Colin) children Michael Jr. (Anita), Susan (Tony) and Thomas (Lisa), seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

Friends are invited to celebrate Mike's life on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 4 pm until a service begins at 7 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd, Edgewater, MD. Interment is private.

Timothy W. Miller, 62, of Edgewater, MD, passed away at his home on Friday, October 5, 2018 after a brief illness. Born on November 13, 1955 in Reading, PA to Shirley Lutz Miller and the late George S. Miller, Tim served in the United States Navy from 1976-79 as a Hull Technician on the USS Talbot and USS Inchon. He was well respected for his professional work in the construction industry. Tim was acknowledged for his skill and passion in creating fishing lures and flies; many were works of art. He was well known for his sharp wit and keen sense of humor and his passing caused a ripple of sadness through the community as he was an avid fisherman and was admired for his passion and love of the waterways and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Kim Mundorff Miller; his son, Collin Miller; his sisters, Meridan (Hal) Smith and Joy (Oliver) Baker; his brother, Todd Miller and his mother-in-law, Carole Mundorff. Tim is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, brothers and sisters in law, extended family and dear friends. A celebration of life will be forthcoming. John Andrew Royse, Sr., 85, of Annapolis, MD, went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2018 after a brief illness. 

He was born to the late Dr. George T. and Alawin Royse on August 8, 1933 in Amarillo, TX.

After graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in Economics, John served as an Officer in the U.S. Army. He retired as an economist from the U.S. Department of Labor. John's interests included Bible study, researching and writing a scientific analysis of Genesis, reading, travel, and painting. 

He was a member of Bay Ridge Christian Church. John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Virginia Allphin Royse; three children, Lisa Royse of Summit Point, WV,  Dr. Kimberly (Donald) Wollenhaupt of Peachtree City, GA, and J. Andrew (Itzel) Royse, Jr. of Centerville, VA ; three siblings, Roberta N. Streicher of Tucson, AZ, George T. Royse, Jr. of Waxahachie, TX, , and Marjorie A. Walsh of Amarillo, TX; and four grandchildren, Andrew and Sofia Wollenhaupt  and Andres and Itzelina Royse.

Eugene E. Ripka III, 66, of Fort Washington, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, October 4, 2018.  Born February 1, 1952, in Lewistown, PA, he was the son of the late Eugene E. Ripka and Betty (Rhodes) Ripka. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Anna Louise Stephens, his mother, Betty Ripka; and siblings,, Valarie (Mark) DeVecchis, of McLure,PA and Jeffrey Ripka of Lewistown. He is a 1970 graduate of Lewistown-Granville High School and attended Barrington College in Rhode Island and Clarion College in Pennsylvania. He retired from Verizon Communications. He was a member of Oxon Hill United Methodist Church for the past 25 years. Gene was an avid reader on diverse topics and had an amazing ability to remember what he read.  He was a kind man who enjoyed listening and talking with anyone on any topic. This Spring he celebrated 11 years of sobriety.  As an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous, he opened he mind and heart to other members, encouraged those who were struggling and assumed the responsibility of treasurer and setting up the weekly meetings.  He was respected and appreciated by other members. Gene's sincerity,  quick wit, sense of humor and knowledge will be missed by all who knew him.

The Lord called Diosdado Colada Sabal home on October 4, 2018.  His devoted wife of 55 years was by his side and he was surrounded by his children.  Family and friends knew him by his nickname "Ding".

Ding was born on December 8, 1937 to the late Clemente and Constancia Sabal in Cavite City, Philippines.  He was the fourth of eight children.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Natividad, Zenaida, Reynaldo, and Bienvenido.

He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1959.  During his career, he served in various capacities.  Early in his Naval career, he was stationed at the United States Naval Academy.  He was a member of Seabees Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 62 and served aboard the USS Forrestal (CVA-59) and USS Hepburn (FF-1055).  He also served in the Vietnam War.  Ding received numerous medals and commendations, most notably the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.  He was a M-16 rifle marksman.  Ding retired from the US Navy in 1979 as a Chief Petty Officer.  Shortly after his retirement from the US Navy, he pursued a second career with the US Postal Service.  He retired from the Postal Service after 20 years of service.

Ding is best known for his devotion to God and to his family.  Upon his second retirement, he devoted his time volunteering for the church. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Catholic Church.  Ding graduated from the Education Parish Service (EPS) certification program at Trinity Washington University so he could live out his baptismal commitment to evangelization.  He and his wife were involved in various church ministries.  He immersed himself in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program at St. Columba and also assisted with baptism classes.  Ding served as a Eucharistic minister.  He was a former member of the Fil-Ministry and the Spirit of the Living God Charismatic Group.  Ding was gifted with a beautiful voice which he shared with others as he sung solo or with groups for various church events.

Ding was a family man.  Aside from the Church, he dedicated his life to his family.  He was a devoted, loving, and caring husband and father.  Growing up in a large family taught him the value of hard work and sacrifice.  He applied these principles as he raised his own children.  He worked long hours and on night shift yet he still found the time to volunteer at his childrens' school and field trips.  Ding always wanted to make things easier for his wife and he did so by taking on the bulk of the household tasks such as grocery shopping, cleaning, and errands.  He also loved to cook.  Cooking for his family was one of the many ways he showed his love for them.  Ding brought his family together through mealtime.  Many who knew him knew that they were welcome into his home and there was always an abundance of food for them.  Many remember how he cooked huge meals because he never wanted the food to run out.  Ding was not a man who desired material wealth.  When his family would ask him what he wanted for his birthday he would tell them that being with his family was all he wanted.  His family was all the wealth he needed. 

Ding was a humble and selfless man who put others before himself.  He was always available to lend a helping hand or listen to others in need and give advice.  Ding had such a big heart and empathy for mankind.  He was quiet and reserved at times, but his smile spoke volumes, it was huge and genuine.  Ding had a soft spot for the helpless and less fortunate.  He especially loved animals and cared dearly for the family dogs.  

Aside from cooking for his family, Ding loved music.  He loved to listen to music, sing karaoke, and play the guitar.  He was an avid baseball fan and rooted for the Orioles.  His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys.  He enjoyed a good game of tong-its, a rummy-like card game.  Ding loved to travel and enjoyed cruising with his family.

Ding is survived by his wife Flordeliza; his children Diane (son-in-law Ron), Diosdado Jr., and Jennifer; brother Eliseo; and twin sisters Rosalinda and Rosalina.

Edna "Elaine" Cole, 78, longtime resident of both Annapolis, MD, and formerly  Breezewood, PA, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2018, at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD, surrounded by her loving children. 
 
Elaine was a devoted wife and mother, who gave unconditional love to her family.  She enjoyed participating in any activities that involved her family and friends.  Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Gale Cole, her son, Bryan Higgs, parents George and Elizabeth Long, and siblings Lillian Williams, Elizabeth Reid, Eleanor Berry, Louise Sumler, Robert Long, and Dora Childress.  She is survived by her children Brenda Higgs, Bonnie Higgs, Becky Lammers, Barry Cole, Bruce Cole, David Cole, Virgal Cole, Mabel Lawson, Shirley Hale, and Henry Cole, in addition to 32 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. 
 
Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Elaine's life on Wednesday, October 10 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm at the George P.
