On February 17, 2012, Allan P. Fowler, 57, of Annapolis died at Futurecare in Baltimore. Born March 24, 1954 in Annapolis to David and Gertrude Fowler, Allan graduated from Annapolis High School. When younger, he was a self-employed roofer. Allan enjoyed crabbing, talking to people and being around others. 
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lee Fowler.
 Allan is survived by one daughter, Shannon Fowler of Pasadena; his parents, David and Gertrude Fowler of Annapolis and one sister, Pat Rowe.

Roberta “Bobbi” Britton Hart, 84, after an extended illness, died peacefully in her Annapolis home on February 16th. Bobbi was born in Mount Kisco, New York, daughter of Robert and Jeannette Britton (deceased). She graduated with a degree in Chemistry from Pace University, and later earned a Master’s degree in Counseling Services at Slippery Rock State University. Devoted mother of seven children, Bobbi was a master gardener, worked in several laboratories as a Chemist, and later as a Counselor for developmentally disabled adolescents. She also served as Activities Coordinator in a Nursing Facility. Bobbi was a volunteer for the Heart Association, Head Start program, and numerous charitable organizations. A lifelong devout Catholic and member of Saint Mary’s Parish, she is survived by her brother, Robert (Norma) Britton of Hendersonville, North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Katherine Trimmer, Jeannette Flynn, and Cynthia Booth. She married her husband, James Martin Hart Jr., (deceased) on March 26, 1951, and nearing the end of their 53 year marriage, she nursed him full time through his extended illness. She is survived by her seven children, James (Lyn), Stuttgart, Germany; Matthew (Angela), Palm City, Florida; Maryanne (Edward) Baumgartner, Coronado, California; Margaret (Eugene) Lewis, Columbus, Ohio; Philip (Diana), Reading, Pennsylvania; Michael (Debbie), Annapolis, Maryland; and Andrew (Dina), Arlington, Virginia. Bobbi’s grandchildren are James Martin Hart IV, Jacksonville, Florida; John G. Cumming, Bethesda, Maryland; Erin (Yorick) Uzes, Muscat, Oman; Julia (Georg) Dittrich, Hamburg, Germany; Glen Brown, Palm City, Florida; Kristen (Christian) Riedrich, Vienna, Austria; Erica Baumgartner, New York City; James and Lily Lewis, Columbus, Ohio; Rachael, Jeremy, and Jessica Hart, Reading, Pennsylvania; Connor and Megan Hart, Annapolis, Maryland; Brady and Carson Hart, Arlington, Virginia; and great granddaughter, Mia Dittrich, Hamburg, Germany. On February 16, 2012, Don Winchell, 63, of Chester, formerly of Edgewater passed away at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness. 
Born March 15, 1948 in Baraboo, WI to the late Oscar and Helen Winchell, Don proudly served his country in the US Navy “Seabees” during Viet Nam. He owned and operated Alpha 1 concrete until he began working for Langenfelder Marine, Inc. in Love Point. Until his death, he was an operating engineer for Crane Rental Local #77 in Washington, DC. 
Don enjoyed operating cranes and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Winchell; two daughters, Sheri (Tim) Stevens of Ellicott City and Sonja (Mark) Harding of Henderson; eight grandchildren, Robert, Ashley, Jessica, Brooke, Lily, Shepard, Emma and Ryan and one brother Duane Winchell of Wisconsin.

Betty Lee Smith, 71, a retired Child Development Provider passed on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Southern Maryland Hospital Center following a prolonged illness. 
Betty was born in Alexander, Louisiana on June 17, 1940 to the late Thelma Freeman and Willie Dorty. She received her education in Louisiana and remained there until 1970. During this time she met and married Master Sergeant Oris A. Smith "Smitty". Subsequently they were transferred to Bolling AFB, Washington, D.C. 
While stationed at Bolling AFB, Betty became a Certified Child Care Provider and worked in the Child Development Center at Bolling AFB for many years, until her health began to fail. 
During her extended period of illness, her devoted husband, "Smitty" became her caregiver and dedicated himself to making sure that she received the best care possible by him. Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, "Smitty"; son, Marvin Freeman of MD; cousin, Diallo Sekou of MD, five brothers- in- law; George R. (Vashie) Smith, Frank A. (Abedella) Smith, Freddie (Patsy) Smith, Lenwood (Brenda) Coleman, one sister-in-law, Agnes (Willie) Land, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many devoted friends and neighbors. 
I would like to share the following note that I found after her passing (she was always writing personal notes and leaving them where I could find them). "Smitty, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for every single thing you are doing for me. If I seem ungrateful, God knows it's not in my heart. I don't think I would be alive today if it were not for you and God. Love you, your wife."

Joseph Holmes Ramsey, 78, died of a brain tumor on Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood, MD.

He was born January 15, 1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to the late Joseph W. and Hope A. Ramsey. After serving as a Cryptologic Technician in the U.S. Navy in the 1950s, Joe earned a B.S. degree in Physics from the University of Tulsa in 1963 and was a member of Kappa Alpha. Immediately after graduation, he married his sweetheart LaCresha Dolan and took a job in the space division of Westinghouse Defense. As a field engineer, Joe worked on satellites, science experiments, and other space programs in Maryland, Florida, and California, earning awards and accolades until his retirement in 1994. He loved being with his family, going to the beach, doing genealogy, fixing things, enjoying fine food, taking photos, and listening to music. He was a 40-year member of the Annapolis Church of Christ, a longtime volunteer at the Annapolis Family History Center, and the unofficial mayor of the street where he lived.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, LaCresha Ramsey of Glen Burnie, MD; daughter and son-in-law Rochelle and Ted Fry of San Diego, CA; daughter and son-in-law Dena and Chris Lenham of Harpers Ferry, WV; granddaughter Anastasia Fry of San Diego, CA; brother- and sister-in-law Dewel and Frances Dolan, nephews Mike and Duane Dolan, all of OK.; sponsored midshipman Cmdr. Matt Jackson of WA; plus many friends and relatives.

John Thomas Ainsworth, 71, of Clarkesville, Ga., passed on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 12, 2012. 

John was born in Detroit, Michigan on Nov. 13, 1940 to the late Merrill Leonard and Gladys Ainsworth. John formerly lived in Annapolis, Md., and Naples, FL. His late wife Julie Lytton Ainsworth preceded him in death. He leaves his loving wife, Kay Ainsworth of the home; Step-son Kevin Burke and fiancé Tiffany Salisbury, both of Naples, FL; niece Janet (Kevin) Smith of Sterling, Va. and his loving dog, CoCo whom he rescued. 

John served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1967. He was stationed at Cam Ranh Bay AFB in Viet Nam from 1966-1967 as Flight Facilities Equipment Repairman. 

His first job out of the Air Force was as Technical Representative for Philco Ford, assigned to Instrumentation Research and Development Group at NASA Langley AFB. 

John’s general career was involved with Electronic Instrumentation Sales. He was Annapolis-based Regional Sales Manager of Endevco, Corp. of San Juan Capistrano, CA for 14 years until congestive heart failure in 1996. John then retired to Naples, FL. to live out his final years which were to be no more than five, but God had another plan. John attended Men’s bible study, volunteered in various ministries at church, taught children’s Sunday school and volunteered in children’s ministries in FL and Ga. He attended and served on Men’s spiritual retreats in Georgia. He served as a Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for one year. 

John enjoyed boating, learning new technology, computers, traveling and cooking. His culinary skills were the delight of family and friends. 

Visitation will be on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 PM at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD. 

A funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 10am at Riva Trace Baptist Church, 475 W. Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.

On Sunday, February 12, 2012. The beloved wife of Galen Harley; devoted mother of Chris and Darin Harley; sister of Violet Jones and Lillian Lange; grandmother of Darren, Dylan and Allison Harley. Norma was well known and loved for her dedication and efforts in the of field of domestic violence. She developed and headed a program that was considered the model for similar programs across the country. She presented at a national conference in Los Angeles where the details of her program were shared with a nationwide audience of leaders in her field. Norma was named as one of Maryland's "Top 100 Women." In 1983 she earned a Coast Guard Captain's License.

Arlene Mosier
 
Arlene Ann “Bootsie” Mosier, a 35-year resident of Annapolis, died at her home on February 12 after a two-month battle with cancer. She was 71.
 Born on July 13, 1940, in Washington, D.C., she graduated from Bladensburg High School in 1958. She worked in the Office of Education for the former Department of Health, Education, and Welfare before moving to the Academic Dean’s Office at the United States Naval Academy. She retired from that office in 1998.
 An avid fan of the Washington Redskins, she spent her later years traveling, attending the many events in which her grandchildren were engaged, and spending time with the many friends she had made over the years. She also enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, and crafts.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, Emilie and Joseph Tavaroza. 
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Harvey “Sonny” Mosier of Annapolis; three sons, Bob Mosier of Linthicum, Steve Mosier of Fairfax Station, Va., and Tim Mosier of Jacksonville, Fla.; three daughters-in-law, Diana Mosier of Linthicum, Kathy Mosier of Fairfax Station, Va., and Sheri Mosier of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; and one sister, Barbara Carpenter of Boca Raton, Fla.
 Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 16. Burial will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.

Roger B. Ingham, M.D. , 79, died peacefully on February 12 at Anne Arundel Medical Center surrounded by family. After years of fighting complications of Neuropathy, Roger died exactly three weeks after his beloved wife of 53 years, Dorothy, passed away and two months after his son, Douglas Ingham, died. Roger was also preceded in death by his older brother, Jack. He is survived by his loving children, Diane Richardson and Dan Ingham; his twin brother, Ron; his sister, Martha Everett; and five cherished grandchildren. 
Roger was born in Leominster, MA. His father, John Ingham, worked for DuPont and the family moved often. They made their home in Wilmington, DE. He achieved Eagle Scout at 16. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1954 and the University of Maryland Medical School in 1959. He married the love of his life, Dorothy, the day after he graduated from medical school. 
In 1960, he completed his first year of Medical Residency at South Carolina College of Medicine. He then joined the United States Public Health Service, Coast Guard, in New York and finished his Medical Residency in Staten Island. He was named Chief of the U.S.P.H.S. Medical Out-Patient Clinic in Baltimore. 
In 1966, Dr. Ingham joined a private practice in New Carrollton, MD and specialized in Internal Medicine. He opened his own practice in 1988 in Riverdale, MD.
During his 44 years of medicine, Dr. Ingham was an attending physician at Prince George’s General Hospital. He was appointed the first Chief of Medicine at Doctor’s Community Hospital in Lanham where he served from 1975-1988. He was also Chairman, Medical Peer Review, Prince George’s County from 1978-1986. 
Dr. Ingham treated his patients with respect; he made hospital rounds every day and house calls when needed. In fact, he never missed a day of work. The onset of Neuropathy forced Dr. Ingham to retire. He was well respected by the medical community and greatly loved by his family and friends.

Harry Clinton "Clint" Shaffer, 89, of Annapolis, died February 10 at his home. 

Born October 12, 1922 in Baltimore, Clint served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Philippines during World War II. He worked at Equifax for 40 years, retiring as a Regional Vice President. A lifetime boating enthusiast, Clint enjoyed cruising with the Annapolis Power Squadron and the West River Yacht Club, where he was recently named Vice Commodore. He also enjoyed serving his community in leadership roles at Heritage Harbour and volunteering for Meals on Wheels. 

Clint was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Norma Gray Shaffer, who died in 2006.
 
He is survived by his son, Brent Shaffer of Rose Valley, PA; his two grandchildren, Gray and Morgan Shaffer also of Rose Valley, PA; and his special friend, Shirley Insley of Annapolis.

Cheryl Lynn Schubert, 53, a lifelong resident of Annapolis, died on February 10, 2012 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center. She was born on September 18, 1958 in Annapolis to Barbara and the late Owen K. White. Cheryl was a career banker, working as a manager at the First National Bank of Maryland and the Second National Federal Savings Bank of Annapolis.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Hunter Schubert of Edgewater; three brothers, Mark S. (Michele) White of Odenton, Darren White of Annapolis and Chad (Nicole) White of Arnold; one sister, Dawn (Ray) Poteet of Ocean City and her former husband, Kurt S. Schubert.

Leonardo DelRosario Magnaye, 72, a 15 year resident of Edgewater and previously of Davidsonville and the Philippines, died Thursday, February 9 at his home after a seven-year battle with cancer.

Born November 18, 1939 in Limay in the Bataan Province of the Philippines, he attended the Rodriguez Vocational High School in Manila, graduating in 1955. Leonardo worked in Parole for Ricky’s TV & Audio Center and later for RV Recreation World in Annapolis. He was also a Master Ballroom dance instructor and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Edgewater, MD. Leonardo enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends.

Leonardo is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Fausta Magnaye, both of Limay of the Bataan Province in the Philippines.

Leonardo is survived by his wife, Susana L. Magnaye, whom he married on March 17, 1967, a son, Leonardo Magnaye, Jr. of Manila, Phillipines, and a daughter, Diana Jungnistsch of Edgewater, MD. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Jungnitsch of Edgewater, MD, Ann Jun, Aldjay, Julie Ann, Leslie Ann, Gay Ann, and Mary Jun Magnaye, all of Cainta, Philippines, and Grace Magnaye Baisaic of Dubai, UAE and one great-grandson Maden Jacob Baisaic of Dubai, UAE

On Thursday, February 9, 2012, Marie D. Marshall, long time resident of Arlington County died peacefully of natural causes. She was 93. Wife and best friend of the late Clifford Marshall for 67 years. She is survived by her children Michael (Pam) Marshall, Joy (John) D’Angelo, and her cherished grandchildren Drs. Megan (Dane) Barrett, and John A. D’Angelo. 
Marie served as a member of the Arlington County Police Department beginning in 1952 as the School Crossing Guard at Nottingham Elementary. Thirty years later she retired as Supervisor of the Crossing Guards in 1982. During her tenure, Marie was actively involved in the Arlington and Fairfax County Police Patrol Camps. Mary Smith Moreland Phibbons, 93, a 6-year resident of Lothian and previously of West River and Annapolis died on Thursday, February 09, 2012 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Born January 12, 1919 in Annapolis, she worked as a saleswoman at various Annapolis area shoe stores, a caterer with her daughter and was a homemaker. Mary was a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Lothian and a 25 year member of the West Annapolis Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed participating in group trips with her church friends.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Clarence R. Moreland and Earley Phibbons; a daughter, Mary Lou Bottner; three brothers, John W., Robert and Edward Smith; and two sisters, Thelma Louise Taylor and Ruth Spriggs.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Manning) Barksdale of Lothian; a sister, Margaret Sullivan of Harwood; and five grandchildren, Chip Churn of Cape St. Claire, Terri Acito and Judi Bottner, both of Davidsonville, Sandra Marshall of Harwood and Sheryl Brewer of Texas. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
