Traci Lynn Donley, 54, a 2-year resident of St. Leonard, MD and previously of Harwood passed away suddenly on June 28, 2025 in Annapolis following a battle with cancer. Born on February 25, 1971 in Annapolis to Gloria Barkalow and the late Jack Winemiller, Sr., Traci graduated from Southern Senior High School before entering the workforce, where she enjoyed careers with the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Justice, and for the last 8 years with Duley and Associates in Upper Marlboro, MD. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to the beach, roller skating, trying new restaurants, travelling, going on walks, shopping, and most of all spending time with her family and loved ones. In addition to her father, Traci was preceded in death by her grandparents, Warren and Virginia Turner, and her mother-in-law, Bonnie Donley. She is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, Fred Donley, Jr.; her children, Lauryn and Emily Donley of St. Leonard; her brother, Jack (Jocelyn) Winemiller, Jr. of Tracey’s Landing; her mother, Gloria Barkalow and her husband, Mitch; her father-in-law, Frederick Donley, Sr. and her granddaughter, Ava Grace. 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Traci's life at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD, on Wednesday, July ,2 from 12 noon until her funeral service begins at 1 pm.  Paul B. Sherbert passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Paul was born on May 2, 1936, in Edgewater, Maryland. His parents were William and Inez Sherbert, both from Maryland. Paul met his wife, Faye, on a blind date after she moved to Maryland in 1956. Paul and Faye married in June of 1958 and have resided in Mayo, Maryland ever since. They would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on June 27th.

Paul spent his life in the grocery business, first at Gatts, then Dave’s Corner and finally ending his career at Safeway. He was always early for every shift and worked hard every day. 

After retiring he spent his days volunteering at South County Senior Center. He loved the team there and enjoyed giving his time in service of others.
Paul enjoyed his family more than anything else. They were his hobby. Paul and Faye went everywhere together. These past two months are the longest they have ever been apart. 

 Paul was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Faye. He is survived by his three daughters Paula Gingell of Mayo, MD, Elaine Smith and her husband Bob of Pasadena, MD, Robin Greulich and her husband Billy of Mayo, MD. He also had six granddaughters, Jaime Gingell, Jennifer Bone, Angie Rogers, Katie Galaska, Chrissy Clow and Kara Ranjitkar. Paul also had nine great-grandchildren, Aaliyah, Cayla, Madalyn, Nicole, Devin, Caitlyn, Bradley, Caleb, and Jonah. He was expecting a great-great grandson this summer.

Frank “Jimmy” Wilson Rolen, 90, a 76-year resident of Edgewater, Maryland and previously of Sevierville, Tennessee passed away on June 24, 2025 in his home. Jimmy was born on January 19, 1935 in Sevierville to the late Harlen Lee Rolen and Margaret Jessie (Gann) Rolen. Jimmy established his career as a Master Commercial Electrician acquiring many certifications in his field. He spent the majority of his working career with Electric Service Co. After retiring, he went on to work for the State of Maryland as a Facilities Manager for the Maryland School for the Deaf. Jimmy was a huge sports fan. He loved watching every sport imaginable at all levels, whether it be professional, college, or even youth. In his younger days, he coached youth softball and played many tennis matches. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Joy Anne (Hardesty) Rolen and his brother, Billy Coker Rolen of Louisiana. He is survived by his sons, Troy Wayne Rolen (Alison) of Moneta, VA and Todd William Rolen (Regina) of Maryville, TN; his daughters, Dawn Michele Ristaino (Peter) of Harwood, MD and Stacey Ann Cole (James) of Davidsonville, MD; his thirteen grandchildren, Austin Rolen (Stephanie), Maria Contreras (Victor), Kimberly Rolen (Tim Dean), Erica Beans (Kevin), Matthew Rolen (Kara), Luke Rolen, Megan Cole, Zachary Cole, Maxwell Cole, Logan Cole, Hunter Cole, Mia Cole, and Sara Rolen; and his eleven great-grandchildren. 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jimmy’s life on Tuesday, July 1 from 4 to 6 pm at Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD, followed immediately by his funeral service at 6 pm. Interment will be private.

Martha Ann Fuller was a woman of many talents. She was raised in Charleston S.C along with her sister Betty. It was identified early that she had a beautiful voice and she was trained to sing opera when she was in her teens, a talent she continued to share until her death. She sang for churches and at weddings as well as other events whenever she able. She was a mother of 5 children. A grandmother to 12 and a great grandmother of 10. She was working in Savannah as radiology technician when she met the love of her life a handsome pilot in the Air Force Colonel James R. Fuller. They raised their 5 children across the country between Savannah, Japan, Washington state, Delaware, and Camp Springs, Maryland. Her house is where all the kids hung out and she was active in the PTA.  When she first married she and her husband got there first dog named Pepper an Irish setter whose hair matched her auburn hair. While in Camp Springs she became more interested in Irish Setters and she started to breed and show setters and was able to achieve champions. She became an entrepreneur by opening her own catering business which developed into her purchasing an Italian deli and grocery store named Gallo’s, and no there is not an ounce of Italian in her French and German heritage, but she learned to speak the language so that she could interact with her customers. She worked in the store until she was about 85 years old then decided to turn it over to her youngest son. Mom loved to stay busy with her many crafts such as quilting, embroidery, knitting and of course cooking. She loved music, dancing and reading. She could actually read 5 books at one time and keep the story lines straight for each one. She attended concerts from every genre from classical to rock she even saw Grateful Dead when she was in her 70’s. The most important part of her life was her family and the biggest day of the year was Christmas when she could shower those she loved as well as those she just met with gifts. She was always giving to others and her community. Many a police officer or fire fighter would be treated to a meal to thank them for their service. At 5-foot-tall and a redhead she made a lasting impression to those she met, she was never afraid to blaze a new trail or stand up for her family, friends or those that she felt needed help. Her legacy is the love she shared with so many and she will forever be in our hearts. 



A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the memorial service at 12 noon on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD 20745. J. Robert “Bob” Bradshaw, 70, of Odenton, MD passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025. Born on July 11, 1954 in Washington, DC to the late J. Douglas and Alcena Bradshaw, Bob grew up in Silver Spring, MD. He attended St. Francis Prep High School in Pennsylvania before receiving his bachelor’s degree from Lynchburg College in Virginia. He then went on to receive his Masters of Business Administration from Central Michigan University.

Following graduation, Bob worked at Citizens Bank of Maryland and later as V.P. of Sales at Prince George’s Realty. After marrying, he and his beloved wife Anne moved to St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., where Bob worked as Controller at Frenchman’s Reef Hotel. After returning to Davidsonville, Bob worked at Stern’s Office Furniture in Washington, DC. He then became V.P. of Sales and eventually an owner of Maryland Office Interiors (M.O.I.), retiring in 2000.

Dedicated to community involvement, Bob served on the boards of the Davidsonville Athletic Association (D.A.A.), the Davidsonville Civic Association (D.A.C.A.), Archbishop Spalding High School, Kings Retreat Homeowners Association, and the Anne Arundel County Arts Council. He was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan to the Chesapeake Bay Council and the Board of Maryland Parks. He was named “Citizen of the Year” by Anne Arundel County for the Crofton area. He also worked with County Executive Janet Owens to develop Davidsonville Park; the road into the park is named “Bob Bradshaw Way”.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Anne Bradshaw; his children, Meghan Bradshaw (Mike) of Washington, DC, Patrick Bradshaw (Lydia) of Richmond Hill, GA, and Jay Bradshaw (Lillian) of Pittsburgh, PA; and six grandchildren. 

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Bob’s life on Sunday, June 29 from 5 to 7 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD 21037. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, June 30 at 10:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035. Interment will be private. Donna Ann “Dukes” Griffith, 72, a lifelong resident of Edgewater, died June 20, 2025 at Autumn Lakes in Crofton.  Born November 25, 1952 in Bethesda, MD to the late Robert R. Belt, Sr. and Roselee Hinkle, she worked for many years as an esthetician in various Washington DC area stores and as a bus driver for Anne Arundel County.  In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and making crafts with her nieces and nephews.

Donna is survived by her son, Charles M. “Chad” Griffith of Pasadena; her life partner, Bill McDonald of Edgewater; her siblings, Edward T. “Ed” Blowe (Denise) of Edgewater, Vicki L. Thiel (Claude) of Port Charlotte, FL, Edith P. “Edie” Squires of Edgewater, Robert R. “Bobby” Belt, Jr. (Bonnie) of Edgewater, Stacey L. Belt Coyle (Greg) of Davidsonville and Roselee Blowe of Edgewater.  

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by siblings William T. “Tom” Blowe, III, (Carolyn) and William F. “Billy” Belt and her step parents William T. Blowe, Jr. and Arlene E. Belt. 

Family and friends are invited to Donna’s life celebration on Friday, June 27 from 2-3 PM, followed by a memorial service at 3, at Kalas Funeral Home and Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 28 at 2 PM at North Fork Cemetery, Riverton, WV.

Regina Bernadette Sax (née Ryan), 91, entered into eternal life on June 20, 2025. She was born May 10, 1934 in Baltimore, MD, the youngest child of Grace Bernadette (née Ryan) and Robert Lawrence Ryan. The Brooklyn-based Ryan family was in Baltimore at that time because Regina’s father had found work there during the Depression. Robert tragically passed two months after her birth, and within days, the family moved back to Brooklyn. 
 
Known as Jeanne in her early years, Regina admitted to being spoiled relentlessly by family and their friends. Despite challenging circumstances without her father and when both brothers served overseas during World War II, she enjoyed a happy childhood in Brooklyn where the friendships made were truly lifelong.
 
After attending St. Theresa of Avila Grammar School, Regina graduated from Catherine McAuley High School in 1952. She then worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for Paul Volcker, Jr. and Madeline McWhinney Dale. Regina often recalled their extreme kindness after her mother Grace’s sudden passing in 1961. 
 
She was considered an “old maid” when, at age 32, Regina finally met her match, George J. Sax, and quickly married him in 1966 — even though he was from The Bronx (but he was Catholic, had “very broad shoulders,” and wisely agreed to live in Bay Ridge). In the early 70s, they made for the New Jersey suburbs to raise their three children, first to Hopatcong and then to Sparta’s Lake Mohawk. Living in “the country” forced Regina to finally get her driver’s license at the age of 39, which may have taken more than one attempt. 

She was a very active parishioner and volunteer at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Sparta, serving over the years as a CCD teacher, Eucharistic minister during Mass and to the homebound, and as a member of the Arimathea Group. 
 
Regina and George eventually moved to Maryland to live closer to their children and grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband in 2017, Regina was living in Edgewater, MD at the time of her passing. She was known for her very strong New York accent, lacking a filter, telling wild stories, and her love of big band and Irish music, singing, dancing, romance novels, British mysteries, Korean dramas, and plain Lays potato chips. 
 
In addition to her husband, Regina was undoubtedly met at Heaven’s Gates by her parents and siblings Lawrence, Eileen, and Robert as well as her grandson Christopher. She is missed by her children, Gracemarie (Manning Thomas Jeter IV), George L. (Beth), and Liz; grandchildren Alexis, Liam, Brigid, Emma, Keara, Erin, Aislinn, Rory, and Aileen; son-in-law James R. Loring; and many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.  
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Edgewater, MD on Saturday, June 28 at 11:30am. A private interment will take place at a later date.



Our noble-hearted, smart, and unwittingly valiant mother, Barbara M. Hayes (née Barbara Cecelia McAllister), eased away from this life in her own bed on June 18, 2025 surrounded by friendship, safety, and good vibes. She had been ailing and nearly unable to speak for some time, yet—a sugar-hound to the end—her mostly quiet exit was occasionally punctuated by sudden, hilariously clear requests for “ice-cream” or “a Coke.” She got everything she asked for, and plenty more.

Born in a working-class area of Jersey City on September 15, 1938 to her late parents, Flo and Bob, she grew to be a spritely, wide-eyed beauty: a brunette miniature Ingrid Bergman. She married our dad in 1957, and they both attended Washington Teacher’s College, yet she put her own studies on hold to
help her husband John to get his master’s degree in education. 

Ultimately, “Bobbi,” as her parents and sister called her, received much more of an education than she’d ever bargained for and became a fulltime teacher in her own way: she had three wildly different daughters.  

Our mother was as low-key as she was steadfast and goal oriented. She ran herself ragged to make sure that we always had riding lessons, music lessons, softball teams, swimming, slumber parties, brownies, time with friends and also taught Sunday school. She guided us during our crises (three girls:  there were crises), baked our birthday cakes and gazillions of Christmas cookies. She loved staying up late and getting silly watching Creature Feature—and she made great popcorn.

In her younger years, she collected and devoured poetry. She was also handy at crafting,
had a sweet singing voice, and drew and painted well. She enjoyed people, loved to go to
thrift stores (always on the lookout for “wolf” sweatshirts), and had a solid sense of humor.
She loved all kinds of music, patiently letting her daughter Heather listen ad nauseam to her Tom Lehrer records.

She was a great listener, a faithful and supportive friend, she loved animals and had many through the years. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs and watching her favorite shows The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. Her faith was also very important to her. She always had time for people, even if it put her behind schedule. From the ancient ex-con who’d clamber up our back stairs to hawk dodgy vegetables, to her friends from church, to random strangers, she always gave of herself to people and had the supremely underrated ability to put herself in another’s shoes, and to give them the benefit of the doubt. Always patient, always supportive, unfailingly sympathetic. 

She lived in her house in Davidsonville for 52 years until she went to an Assisted Living house in Severna Park where she spent the last 1.5 years.

Barbara was small of stature, but she was uncannily strong. She beat cancer twice. She battled multiple health issues in the last six months and pulled through them all when no one expected her to. We gave her the nickname “Mighty Mouse/Mighty Mom”. She had made new friends with lovely ladies she met at her Assisted Living house who helped look out for her. She had wonderful caregivers who were there to watch over her from the time she got there until the very end.

She leaves in her wake three daughters who miss her, who hope to be as strong as she was, and who 
will always remember her when she was still able to be herself: fun and funny, articulate, hanging 
around the dining table laughing and talking with family or friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 63 years, John H. Hayes. She is survived by her daughters, Heather Hayes (Salvador Constans), Allison Reigle (Frank) and Erin Rauth (Paul); her grandson, Cameron Reigle; her sister, Lynn Pallotta and her nephew, Neil Pallotta.

The family will be having a private Celebration of Life.

John Robert Whipple, 72, of Camp Springs, MD, passed away in the early hours of June 17, 2025, after a long illness. He was born on March 16, 1953, in Washington, DC, the youngest child of Gertrude (McCabe) and Irving Whipple. He attended St. Francis Xavier school in Southeast Washington, DC, and was an altar server in the parish church there. He graduated from St. John’s College High School in 1971, where he attained the rank of First Sergeant in the Cadet Corp. Following graduation, he briefly attended the University of Maryland. He took a job at PEPCO as a surveyor in 1974 and retired in 2022 as a design engineer. In the summer of 1970, he met Dineen Franclemont while they were both working at the Sears on Alabama Avenue. They were married in 1975 and have 6 children.

From a young age, John was interested in music. He first trained as a classical guitarist, then took up drums in the high school marching band to avoid duties related to rifle drills. Starting in the mid-1960’s, he performed professionally in a succession of bands in the DC area, including Truck, HapyJack, Medulla, Swamp Rats, and Four of a Kind, as well as making guest appearances with many other local groups. Although his main instruments were his voice, acoustic guitar, and electric bass, his talent for music was such that he could get a decent sound out of any instrument – or piece of silverware – he touched.

In the mid-1980’s, he joined the folk group at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Camp Springs, MD, eventually rising to become its director, a position he held until his death. He was much in demand as a liturgical musician, regularly playing services of various types at St. Joseph’s in Pomfret, MD, in the early 2000’s and St. Joseph’s in Beltsville, MD, from 2008-2020, as well as providing music at many church events throughout the DC area, including weddings, funerals, First Communions, Confirmations, parish missions, and retreats. On many of these occasions, he was accompanied by one or more of his children, all of whom have followed in his musical footsteps to some degree.

A cradle Catholic, John was an active member of St. Philip’s parish since 1979. He served in various volunteer roles, including assisting with the youth group, where he planned and
supervised the annual teen camping trip, which was the highlight of the summer. Both John and Dineen became professed members of the Secular Franciscan Order in the early 1990’s. 

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, archery, target shooting, hiking, and camping, and he reveled in passing that love on to new generations, both within his family and as an instructor in the Maryland Hunter Safety Education Program.

Throughout his life, John was also involved with the Boy Scouts of America, first as a youth when he achieved the rank of Life, then from 2007 to 2012 as an Assistant Scoutmaster in Troop 253 where his son Joseph earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

He loved history, especially the American Civil War and World War II eras, and would spend hours watching documentaries and then passing on interesting tidbits to anyone who would listen.

He was the master of the “Dad Joke,” and he never met a pun that he didn’t like. His dry, yet often bizarre, sense of humor was well known to both family and friends alike.

John’s life revolved around 3 things: his family, his faith, and his music. In all three areas, he will be sorely missed.

John is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lewis A. Whipple, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dineen (Franclemont) Whipple; his sisters Alicia Downs and Catherine Dodds; his 6 children: Jennifer Marciano (John Marciano) of College Station, TX, John M. Whipple (Nichole Clagett) of Alexandria, VA, Juliette Whipple of Arlington, VA, James Whipple (Zettie Whipple) of Baltimore, MD, Jacqueline Beverstock (Brooks Beverstock) of Herndon, VA, and Joseph Whipple (Mykalia Tooles) of Great Mills, MD; and his 5 grandchildren: Felicity Beverstock, Cora Whipple, Anastasia Beverstock, Caitriona Whipple, and soon to be born, Alistair Whipple.

Services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 5416 Henderson Way, Camp Springs, MD 20746. Viewing at 10am, Funeral Mass at 11am.

Interment to follow at Washington National Cemetery, 4101 Suitland Rd., Suitland-Silver Hill, MD 20746. Repast to follow at St. Philip’s Social Hall.
