Naomi Berliner Cline, 83, died at her home on Sunday, November 15, 2015 of natural causes.

Born June 14, 1932 in Columbus, OH, she was employed at the Israeli Embassy. She loved music and books. Naomi will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rubin and Anna Berliner; and two sisters, Sarah Gertner and Lillian Topolosky.

Naomi is survived by her husband, Charles Cline, whom she married on June 1, 1969; a daughter, Shira Goodfellow and her husband, Herb Goodfellow, Jr. of Oak Hill, VA; one sister, Ruth Stone of Columbus, OH; and two grandchildren, Jordan Goodfellow and Ebony Mitchell-Goodfellow, both of Oak Hill, VA.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 18 at 2:30pm at King David Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA.

Paul Douglas Robey, 63, of Oxon Hill, MD passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. Paul was the first child of William G. and Frances Robey, born on December 20, 1951. Older brother of Ken and Brian Robey, and Uncle Paul to Jeff and Matt Robey. Paul retired from the Prince Georges County Government Department of Public Works and Transportation in 2011 after more than 30 years of service in the Office of Transportation as an engineering technician. He was an avid reader and collector of many music genres as evidenced by his vast collection of books and albums. Paul enjoyed sports, as a participant prior to being sidelined by a work injury in his late twenties, and continuing as a spectator. Paul was a lifelong Redskins fan, even in the bad years. To honor Paul’s memory, contributions may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association. Cecelia A. Jewell, 73, a resident of Odenton, MD, died on Monday, November 9, 2015 in Annapolis, MD. Born on February 27, 1942 in Washington, D.C. to the late Martin and Annabelle Thornton, Cecelia attended St. Cecelia and Bladensburg High Schools. She was an administrative assistant, retiring from NSA. 
Beloved mother of Suzanne M. (Robert) Walters, Joanna L. (James)Harford, William E. Jewell, Jr. and the late Robert T. Irene Marie Johns

Irene Marie Johns, 90, a five-year resident of Columbia and previously of Edgewater, MD, died on November 10, 2015 at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia.
Born August 16, 1925 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Francis and Marguerite Givens, Irene worked as an Administrative Assistant for the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) for 20 years. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Edgewater and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Irene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Johns, Sr., and her children, Eileen M. Sarles and Thomas L. Johns.
She is survived by a grandson, Richard Williamson; one son James E. Johns, Jr.; and her other grandchildren James Jubane, James E. Johns, III and Sherry Jubane.

On Friday, November 6, 2015, Derek Anthony Steele, Jr., 32, of Annapolis, MD passed away at his home. Derek was born to Judy and Derek Steele, Sr. in Washington, DC on December 25, 1982. He was raised in Edgewater, MD by his parents, Judy and Carl Pagliaro. Derek loved boats, Florida and palm trees. He worked at Persimmon Point Marina as a Marine Mechanic. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Thomas Powell, and Lou and Kathy Steele. Derek is survived by his daughter, Genessa Dixon of Grasonville, MD; his parents, Judy and Carl Pagliaro and Derek Steele, Sr. of Naples, FL; Grandmother, Barbara Powell and many loving family and friends. 

A memorial service will be held on November 21st, 2015 at 11 am at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship Church, 377 West Central Ave., Davidsonville, MD.

Audrey Tracy Thomas, 71, a resident of Severna Park for five years and previously of Sierra Vista, AZ died on Thursday, November 5 at her residence after battling dementia for ten years. Born on January 1, 1944 in Washington, D.C. to the late, William and Shirley Ramsey, Tracy graduated from high school and nursing school. She practiced nursing in the 1960's and then worked in word processing in McLean, VA during the 1970's and early 80's. She was a member of the Republican Women's Club and enjoyed ceramics. In addition to her parents, Tracy was preceded in death in 1996 by her husband, Elmer Thomas, whom she married in 1981 and by her daughter, Shelly L. Johnson who died in 2004. She is survived by her son, Ronald G. Johnson, Jr. of Crofton; her grandchildren, Tyler, Colten and Tara Raines all of Cash, AR and her cousins, Cheryl and Tom Heitfield, Rebecca and Chris Makowski, Steve and Ashley Heitfield and Tracy and Kevin Makowski. Elizabeth Margaret Luby, a resident of Davidsonville and previously of Edgewater and University Park, MD, died at home under family and hospice care following hospital treatment for a bowel obstruction and related ongoing conditions. Born on May 7, 1929 in Paisley, Scotland, Elizabeth completed her secondary education at St. Margaret's Convent School. During World War II, her hometown was the target of several German air raids. As a girl she lived through nightly blackouts and numerous trips to the bomb shelter while her father served as a local air raid marshal. She immigrated to Canada and then the United States in 1951 at the age of 21. Following a brief tenure as a nanny for a wealthy Canadian family, Elizabeth moved to Washington, DC where she took a secretarial position at the British Embassy. She met her future husband, Michael Luby, in 1953 and they were married in October of that same year. Betty was employed as a secretary and then procurement specialist at the University of Maryland from 1962 until her retirement in 1984. She especially enjoyed her assignment to procure athletic uniforms for the school's sports teams and fondly remembered a "secret" call from legendary basketball coach, Lefty Driesell, to select and acquire a flashy new uniform for the team in the 1970's. With her staff status the family became season ticket holders for Maryland football and basketball teams and she soon joined in sharing a family passion for these teams, traveling frequently with her husband to events including ACC basketball tournaments, football road games and the Orange Bowl. She was a longtime member of St. Mark's the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hyattsville, MD from the early 1950's until 1983 where she sang in the choir and participated in many church organizations. In addition to singing, one of her favorite hobbies was cake decorating. She made many beautiful cakes for weddings and other special occasions for family and friends over the years. In 1983, Betty and her husband moved to Edgewater where she lived on the Chesapeake Bay at Saunders Point until 2012. During these years, she attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville where she volunteered with the church's Lazarus Committee providing luncheons for families and guests following funeral services. She also volunteered at a local crisis pregnancy center. Her principal activity during the 1980's and 90's though centered on helping with the care of her grandchildren to whom she was especially devoted. She resided with her son and daughter-in-law in Davidsonville from 2012 until the time of her death on November 4, 2015 Mrs. Luby was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Michael Grattan Luby in 2008. She is survived by her son, Michael J. Luby of Davidsonville; and two grandsons, Michael G. Luby of Edgewater and Vincent Luby of Davidsonville. Family and friends may join in the celebration of her life on Thursday, November 12 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD. On November 2, 2015, Marcia J. BarenBregge passed away with her beloved family by her side. Marcia is survived by her husband of 31 years, Peter of Upper Marlboro, MD, and their three children, Emily BarenBregge, San Francisco; Alex BarenBregge, Reston, VA; and Lisa BarenBregge, Annapolis, MD. In addition, she is survived by her mother Irene Breault, Norwalk, CT; sister Anne Sohon, Shelton, CT; and brother Marc Breault, Stamford, CT. She was preceded in death by her father Jean Marc Beault, Norwalk, CT. She was aunt to three nieces and three nephews. Born in Norwalk, CT, December 15, 1960, Marcia graduated from Brien McMahon High School. She was initially employed by the law firm Slavitt & Connery followed by the Public Defender’s office in Norwalk until she married in 1984. She then relocated to Upper Marlboro, MD, where she was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker. She re-entered the workforce in the educational field by working at Marlton Elementary School as a teacher’s aide then became a certified pre-K paraprofessional, working at the school until her death. Marcia was very active at St. Paul’s Moravian Church as chair person on various boards. She was also PTA president among other community activities. As a paraprofessional Marcia was awarded an Outstanding Supporting Personnel Award in 2007 for her outstanding accomplishments. She was highly respected and loved by the faculty and students alike. Marcia loved to travel and along with her husband Peter, had the opportunity to travel extensively to many states, and internationally to Canada, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Domincan Republic, England, Scotland, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Australia, and New Zealand.
 A memorial service was held at St. Paul’s Moravian Church in Upper Marlboro, on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, 7pm, 8505 Heathermore Blvd, Upper Marlboro, MD, 29772. 


A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery. If attending, please meet at the Administration Building no later than 9:15 a.m. with one's own transportation.

Edith “Margie” Lee, 80, of Denton, MD , and previously of Annapolis, MD, died at her home on Monday, November 2, 2015. She was born on November 16, 1934 in Baltimore, MD, to the late Allen and Irene (Windsor) Asquith. 
Margie was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of the Deale Antioch Church. Her hobbies included collecting John Wayne keepsakes, going to the mountains and listening to Elvis Hymns.
 Edith was preceded in death by her first husband, Erine Adams.
 
She is survived by her husband of 11 years, Allan Lee; a daughter, Betty Neuwirth and her husband, Andrew of Denton, MD; a granddaughter, Jessie Benson and her husband, Shawn of Ridgely, MD; and one great-grandson, Zhane Benson.

On the feast of All Saints Day, Sunday, November 1, 2015, James “Jimbo” Glen Lambert passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at the Saint Jeanne Jugan Residence.

Jimbo leaves behind 2 children, Evelyn Teresa Fritz and James Albert Lambert, as well as 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

He joins his beloved wife, Elizabeth, as well as his son, Michael David Lambert, in paradise.

ALEX, Margaret “Peggy”
Margaret “Peggy” Alex, 85, of Annapolis, MD died at her home on Friday, October 30, 2015. She was born on May 12, 1930 in Brewer, Maine to the late Alfred and Grace (Flaherty) Kelly. Peggy was a graduate of John Bapst High School in 1948. On June 20, 1959, she married Peter S. Alex while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Peggy was a proud Irish-Catholic woman with a kind and wonderful soul. She will be known as a loving, caring wife and a wonderful mother. Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ellen Kelly Fuller and a niece, Stephanie Jernigan Baker. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Peter S. Alex; a son, Peter J. Alex of Annapolis; a daughter, Elena Maria Duplessis of Lothian; a niece Denise Darling Talbot of Steillacoom, WA; a nephew Jeffery Mark Fuller of San Diego, CA; a great niece, Grace Baker of Salisbury, MD, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Jean Stanek
 
Jean Shepherd Stanek, 82,of Davidsonville, MD passed away on October 28, 2015 after suffering severe bouts of pain and organ failure. Jean was born in Washington, DC. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Texas Lutheran College and Troy State University where she earned a Master’s degree in International Relations. Jean worked as a secretary-steno for various U.S. government agencies in Washington, DC; San Antonio and Austin, TX; and Ramstein, Germany. She retired from the U.S. Department of Energy in 1996. Jean was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed playing bells with her church bells ensemble. She also enjoyed training her three German Shepherds: Jake, Klaus, and Smokey, and her two Labradors. While living in Texas, Jean became a motorcyclist and traveled all over the state. A great joy in her life was the three years she spent living in Germany and traveling throughout Europe.
 Jean is survived by her husband, Wayne Stanek; her sons, Donald Stone of Parkton, MD and Michael Stone of Crownsville, MD; and four grandchildren, Andrew, Courtney, Joseph and Angela. 
Friends are invited to celebrate Jean’s life on Wednesday, November 11, beginning at 11am at the Community United Methodist Church, 1690 Riedel Road, Crofton, MD. Interment will be at 11:30 on November 16 at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.

Dolores Margaret “Dee” Sheckells, 83, a lifelong resident of South County, passed away on October 28. Born on February 23, 1932 in Annapolis to the late Salvador and Violet Hiponia, Dee loved spending time with her family, and looked forward to holidays, and Hiponia family reunions. 

Dee was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Sheckells. She is survived by five children, Donna Gezelle Norris, Cindy Gezelle Koch, Cherie Gezelle Lagana, Jimmy LesCallett and Bill LesCallett; one brother, Joe Hiponia and three sisters, Maria Pettit, Anita Pryor and Verna Radcliff; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Marlene Virginia "Ginny" Windsor, 45, a fifteen year resident of Edgewater and previously of Shady Side, died at her home on October 28 of natural causes. Born on March 17, 1970 to the late Mary and Ronald Napier, Sr., Ginny attended Southern High School and was a certified pharmacy tech. She was a homemaker and stay at home Mom most of her life. Ginny enjoyed crocheting, playing on Facebook, the Dallas Cowboys and spending time with family and friends. She loved her grandkids and her dog, Cody James with all her heart and she loved making others happy. Ginny is survived by her husband, Craig Allen Windsor, whom she married on December 10, 2002; her children, Raymond Rinehart, Jr. of Vallejo, CA, Ryann Clarke of Shady Side, Markie Scharch of Clarksville, TN, Jesiyka Slavens and Ashlee Windsor both of Edgewater; her stepson, Joseph Windsor of Harwood; her siblings, Robin Gift of Chester, Ronald Napier, Jr. of Spring City, TN and Kevin Napier, Sr. of Edgewater and her grandsons, Benjamin Rhodes, Jr. of Edgewater and Jace Rinehart of Vallejo, CA.
