Frances M. Harry, 88, of Annapolis, MD, and previously of Cheverly, MD, died surrounded by family on Thursday, October 27, 2011.
 
Born January 22, 1923, and raised in Mount Rainier, MD, Frances attended St. James Elementary School and graduated from St. Patrick’s Academy in Washington, DC. She married David W. Harry in 1946, was a homemaker, and raised six children.
 
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, David W. Harry; six children, Kathleen Andrew of Bolivia, NC; Donna Woltzen of Sarasota, FL; David Harry of Olive Branch, MS; 
Mary Garner of Arnold, MD; Elizabeth Ruddell of Darnestown, MD; and Michael Harry of Mount Airy, MD; 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
 
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 N. Bestgate Rd., Annapolis, MD, on Monday, October 31st, 10:30am. The interment will be private.

Carole P. Ancona, age 77, a twenty-year resident of Annapolis and formerly of Farmington, CT, died on Wednesday, October 26, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
 
Born on April 12, 1934, in Boston, MA, Carole graduated at the top of her class from The University of Hartford with degrees in art history. She was the Director of the Elderhostel Program at Trinity College in Sorrento, Italy, and taught art history at the University of Hartford. Carole’s passions were her family and friends, Roman and Greek art and architecture, and traveling to Italy. She enjoyed renovating homes, gardening, and classical literature.
 
Carole was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Adams. She is survived by her husband, Antonio Ancona; a son, James Irace of Roanoke, VA; three daughters, Laura Goldschmidt of Burlington, CT, Mary A. Irace of Annapolis, MD, and Susan Weischer of St. Thomas, USVI; three grandchildren, Valerie and Martin Goldschmidt and Julia DiLeo; her former husband, Ralph Irace.

Captain Howard E. Miniter, Jr. was born in Bridgeport Connecticut in 1934 and was raised in Queens, NY. He passed away peacefully in his home, October 25, 2011, after a long battle with illness. He was 77 years old.
 As a 27-year career naval officer, he served with great distinction and retired from active duty in 1984. He began his naval career in 1957 as a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, where he earned a degree in Engineering. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from George Washington University. 

Upon his commission in the Navy, Captain Miniter served aboard the USS SARATOGA (CVA-60) as the five inch battery officer and then aboard the USS ENGLISH (DD-696) as the Engineering Officer. As a young Lieutenant, he assumed the duties as the Commanding Officer of the USS MONMOUTH COUNTY (LST-1032). Subsequently, he served as the Executive Officer of the USS ROBERT A OWENS (DD-827) and the USS CORONADO (LPD-11). Captain Miniter was then assigned as the Commanding Officer of the USS HARLAN COUNTY (LST 1196) and completed his distinguished naval career as the Commodore, Military Sealift Command, Atlantic Fleet.
 
Other significant assignments during his career included tours in the Pentagon on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations in the General Planning and Programming Division and as the Shipbuilding and Conversion Navy Appropriation Manager. He also served as the Director, Bureau of Naval Personnel and as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Naval Personnel for Financial Management. Early in his career, Captain Miniter served as an Engineering Instructor at the U.S. Naval Academy. During his career he was awarded two Legion of Merit Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals and various unit awards.
 
Throughout his professional naval career, he was known to take on challenging assignments and to achieve impressive results. His commitment to excellence is well-known to those with whom and for whom he served. 
Upon retiring from the Navy, Captain Miniter was President of Marine Carriers, New York, NY where he worked for over ten years. He fully retired in 1997 to a life of boating on the Chesapeake Bay.
 
Captain Miniter was predeceased by his first wife, Frances T. Miniter of Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Grace Platt Miniter. He is also survived by his two daughters, the former Beverly and Jenienne Miniter and three grandchildren Tara Fagan, Ally and Brendan Veit all of Annapolis. 

Funeral services will be held at the United States Naval Academy Chapel on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis MD 21401.

Diamond Lee Lucente, age 69, a 10-year resident of Edgewater, MD and previously of Ft. Washington, MD for 45 years, died at her residence on Tuesday, October 25 after a 3-year battle with cancer. Born on December 26, 1941 in Washington, DC, Lee was a homemaker who enjoyed decorating. She was a member of the Sons of Italy, the Oxon Hill Manor OSIA and the Homemakers Club. In her spare time, Lee liked shopping, cooking, baking, reading, praying and crafts of all kinds, especially quilting. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Frank A. Lucente; two sons, Anthony R. Vernon of Coral Springs, FL and Shawn Vernon of Deerfield Beach, FL; three daughters, Anna Lucente-Hoffmann, Gina and Carla Lucente all of Edgewater, MD; a brother, Edward Boccabello of St. Petersburg, FL; a sister, Philamena Gonzalez of Dagsboro, DE; six grandchildren, Ross Vernon, Frank and Brooke Lucente-Watson, Ford and Summer Hoffmann, Erica Lucente-Fierstein, and Madison Lucente-Newman and one great-granddaughter, Jaslene Vernon. MAJOR WALTER ALOIS GALLIE (Retired) USAF
 
87, of Fort Washington, MD, passed away on October 25, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Ann (Theisen); children David Gallie and wife Doreen, Ann Marie Dixon and husband Joseph, Jillian Gallie and husband Jeffrey Witcosky, and Christine Cacic and husband Michael; grandchildren Zachary Spille, Joshua Spille, Aleksandra Cacic, and Arianna Cacic; and great-grandchild Joaquin Spille. He is preceded in death by daughter Katherine Gallie and grandson Bob William Gallie.
 
Walter was born June 22, 1924 to parents Louis and Katherine (Jungmann) Galli in Secaucus, New Jersey. He graduated from Demarest High School in Hoboken in June 1941. He enlisted in the US Navy in September of 1942 and served on 2 submarines during World War II – the USS Bergall and the USS Blenny. After the War, in December 1945, he reenlisted in the US Navy and was assigned to the USS Requin. It was during this tour that he met his future wife, Marjorie, on a blind date in Gulfport, Mississippi. He was discharged from the Navy in October, 1947, and Walter and Marjorie married January 24, 1948, in her hometown of Alton, Illinois. That year, Walter enrolled at New York University to study meteorology, having been first exposed to it in the V-5 program and while aboard the USS Blenny, where he took weather observations that supported the rescue of downed pilots. In his junior year, he enrolled in the Air Force ROTC program. In 1953, he graduated from NYU with a B.S. and M.S. in Meteorology and, in September, he was assigned to Manston RAF Station in England, where he served as a weather forecaster for 3 years. In 1956, he and the family returned to the United States, where Walter worked at the Air Force Weather Station, Air Force Technical Applications Center, and the Office of Aerospace Research. He retired in January 1968, and, in August, 1968, he was hired by the Air Force Systems Command and served as a civilian until he retired in June 1986. Walter was specifically proud of the recognition he received for his contribution to the successful mission of the First DOD Space Shuttle Flight Mission. During his retirement years, Walter served as Commander for the State of Maryland for the WWII U.S. Submarine Veterans (2000-2002), and as a member of the Holland Club, U.S. Submarine Veterans.
 
Walter was a loving family man who had numerous hobbies and interests including lapidary, crocheting and tatting, and fishing and crabbing. He had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Columba Catholic Church 7800 Livingston Rd., Oxon Hill, MD on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 10 AM. Mary Kiss, 87, a nearly 9-year resident of Annapolis and previously of Myrtle Beach, SC and Allendale, NJ, died October 22 at the Heritage Harbour Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born February 28, 1924 in Holyoke, MA to the late Ignatz and Annie Logayda. Mary had a curiosity and zest for life that took her on travels around the world. She was also well known for her sense of humor and enjoyed bridge, knitting, crossword puzzles and watching Dancing with the Stars. Her greatest passion was her family and she loved hosting gatherings with them where she could share her cooking talents.

Mary was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Joseph Alexander Kiss, who died in 1982 and a daughter, Cheryl Ann Longo, who died in 2000.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Ellen Kiss (Leonard Acheson) of Davidsonville; one sister, Irene Bieber of Lakehurst,NJ;one niece; Barbara Bieber;four grandchildren, Patrick Joseph (Susan) Longo, Charles Anthony (Kelly) Longo, Jonathan Paul Longo, Alexandra Christine(Brandon)Taylor; three great-granchildren, James, Mia and Joseph Longo; and one step-grandchild, Amy Acheson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 26 at 11AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 826 W. Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD. Interment Lakemont Memorial Gardens.

Martha "Marty" Elizabeth Sinnard Wright, 82, a resident of Annapolis, MD since 1962 and previously of Hyattsville, MD died on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at her home.
 
Born January 09, 1929 in Denver, CO to the late Elven Orestes and Catherine Sinnard, she graduated from Washington Lee High School in Arlington, VA in 1946 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Chesapeake Bible College and received her Ministry Credentials from Berean College of the Assemblies of God. She was employed as a secretary at the Annapolis Assembly of God, teacher/principal at the Book of Life Academy in Annapolis, MD and as a spokeswoman at the Bankers of American Conventions in 1978 and 1985. She was a fashion illustrator for RTW Scout Newspaper in New York City, NY, television actress in the 1979 movie, Mayflower: The Pilgrims' Adventure and was a dinner theatre actress from 1978-79 in Maryland and Texas. Mrs. Wright was appointed to the Kennedy Center Advisory Board by President Carter in 1978. She was a founder of the Annapolis Opera, Ballet Theatre of Annapolis, the Maryland Hall for Creative Arts and the Edgewater campus of Chesapeake Bible College. She was a minister at Annapolis Assembly of God and a Pastor at the Epping Forest Chapel and Woodland Beach Community Church. Mrs. Wright was also executive director of the Love in Action AIDS ministry and is a member of the 21st Century Club. Her hobbies included the theatre and arts.
 
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert M. Wright, Sr., whom she married on October 23, 1948 and who died on October 17, 2009; mother of Robert Maynard Wright, Jr. of Annapolis, MD, Richard Sinnard Wright of Annapolis, MD, James Phillip Wright of Lafayette, CA and Scott Bennett Wright of Crofton, MD; sister of Elaine Janice Anderson of Middletown, NY and the late Elvin O. Sinnard, Jr. and Catherine Jane Tucker. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren. 

Friends are invited to Martha's Life Celebration at Woodland Beach Community Church, 1716 Shady Side Drive, Edgewater, MD on Sunday, October 30 at 4pm, with a reception immediately following. James Bruce Lynn, Sr, 79, of Oxon Hill, MD passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.
 Born February 2, 1932 and a native Washingtonian, Mr. Lynn attended St. Francis Xavier Elementary and St. John's College High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted with the Marines and served during the Korean Conflict. He attended Georgetown's School of Foreign Service and Georgetown Law School where he graduated in 1961. Mr. Lynn was admitted to the Bar in 1962 and enjoyed a successful law career in the DC Superior Court, later joining the Riggs Bank Trust Department as Vice President, Corporate Trust.
 As a long time member of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, he served as the organization's President from 1982 until 1984. He was also active in the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, The Barristers, The John Carroll Society and The Counselors of Washington D.C. 

James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jane Suzanne Lynn (nee Kelly); devoted father of James, Mary, Kathleen, Patrick, Elizabeth and the late William Lynn; loving grandfather to 17 grandchildren. Brother of Dr. Stephen E. Lynn, MaryAnn Gray and the late Jean Knightly.

Victor John Krisko, 81, of Davidsonville, MD died on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his son’s residence.
 
Born October 9, 1930 in Greensburg, PA to the late John Krisko and Angeline Hollick Krisko, he graduated from Greensburg High School and attended California University of Pennsylvania. Victor served in the U.S. Navy as an Electronics Technician Third Class from September 20, 1950 to June 29, 1954; receiving the Korean Service Medal, United Nations medal, Good Conduct medal, National Defense medal and in 2002, Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
 
Mr. Krisko worked as an engineer for IBM, retiring after 21 years. His memberships included American Legion Post 226 in Mayo, MD, Veteran's of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3233 in Sarasota, FL and AmVets Post 99 in Vandalia, OH. Victor enjoyed playing Golf, World War II History, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and was an avid cross-word puzzle solver.
 
In addition to this parents, Victor was predeceased by his wife, Barrie Jean Reed Krisko and a sister, Josephine Wisneski.
 
He is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Krisko of Greenwood, DE and Robert S. Krisko and his wife Alyssa of Davidsonville, MD; two daughters, Valerie J. Kutchma of Hurrah, OK and Kimberly A. Nicholas and her husband Richard of Houston, DE; two brothers, Robert S. Krisko and Gregory Nieto, both of Lahaska, PA; a sister, Ann Adams of San Diego, CA; 6 grandchildren, Michael A. Kutchma of Moore, OK, Thomas J. Krisko of Wappingers Falls, NY, Christopher J. Kutchma of Beacon, NY, Jessica L. Krisko of Poughkeepsie, NY and Joshua D. Nicholas and Heather A. Nicholas, both of Houston, DE; also survived by one great-grandson, Frederick Krisko .

Margarite E. Bezwersky, 80, a three-year resident of Ft. Belvoir, VA and a former resident of Heritage Harbour for 20 years, died October 19. 
She was born April 22, 1931, in Queens, NY, and graduated from Queens College with a Master's degree in history. In 1954, she married the late William J. Bezwersky and, after a brief career with the Bell Telephone Company, devoted her life to being a homemaker. Margarite was a former parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Annapolis. She loved to travel and enjoyed reading and working with children as a school volunteer.
In addition to her husband, who died in 2004, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Saitta.
She is survived by her son, William James (Lisa) Bezwersky; three daughters, Andrea (Joseph) Russo, Marguerite (Matthew) Saitta and Lisa Bezwersky; six grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Christopher and Christine Russo, and Timothy and Emily Saitta; and great-granddaughter, Liliana Russo.

Mildred “Millie” Miller, 86, an 8-year resident of Sunrise of Annapolis and previously of Delaware died on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Anne Arundel Medical Center of heart failure after a 2 week illness.

Born December 12, 1924 in Long Beach Island, NJ, she graduated from Barnegat High School in Barnegat, NJ. Millie worked as a secretary at the Department of Justice. She enjoyed sewing and doing crossword puzzles.

Mille was the beloved wife of the late Leo S. Miller, whom she married in 1945 and who died on October 14, 1984; mother of Michael Miller of Las Vegas, NV and Carol Fitzgerald of Dunkirk, MD; sister of Carrie Rasyn of NJ.

Friends are invited to Millie’s Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Wednesday, October 26 from 6 to 8pm, with a wake service at 6:45pm. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 11am at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham MD. G. Jeane Young, 58, an 11-year resident of Edgewater, died Tuesday, October 18 at the University of Maryland Medical Center of natural causes.
 
Jeane was born December 23, 1952 in Washington, DC to the late Bob and Ellie Young. She graduated from La Reine High School in Suitland and from the University of Maryland in College Park with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English . She worked in the banking industry for her entire career. Most recently, she was a bank compliance officer at the Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union. Jeane was devoted to her work and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.
 
She is survived by a sister, Jodi Wheeler, and brother-in-law, Retired Anne Arundel Police Officer Dennis Wheeler of Centreville.

Anne Costello Ventura, age 85, a thirty-year resident of Annapolis, died on Monday, October 17, 2011 in Severna Park, MD. Born on January 5, 1926 in London, England, Anne was a former beauty queen who was crowned Miss London in 1946. A wonderful, loving and caring mother, Anne raised three children in the Washington, D.C. area while pursuing her working career as a top saleslady at Wm. A. Miller Furniture Co. for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed tracking and investing in the stock market, and was considered an excellent ballroom dancer. Anne also enjoyed traveling, particularly to Europe with her brother and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren in her later years. Anne attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Davidsonville, MD and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis, MD. 

Anne was predeceased by her former husband, Joseph Ventura and her brother, John Costello. She is survived by two sons, James Ventura of Riva, MD and Mike Ventura of Arlington, VA; a daughter, Susan Guinn of Crofton, MD; two grandsons, J.P. and Tommy Ventura and three granddaughters, Michelle Ventura, Heather and Melissa Guinn. William H. Gaskins, “Bill”, 56, a 25-year resident of Glen Burnie, died at his home October 17, 2011. He was born September 10, 1955 in Washington, DC to the late Richard and Sherron Gaskins. Bill was an avid Ravens and Orioles fan and a 25-year member of the Omni House in Glen Burnie.
 
He is survived by two sisters, Sherron G. (Don) Greulich of Annapolis and Mary Ann (Ben) Cox of Chantilly, VA; one nephew, Donnie Greulich; and three nieces, Lauren Greulich and Savannah and Allison Frye.
