Robert â€œBobâ€ Maynard Wright, 88, a 48-year resident of Annapolis, MD and previously of Lanham, MD died on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Heritage Harbour Health & Rehabilitation Center in Annapolis, MD. 


Born September 3, 1921 in Omaha, NE, he graduated from McKinley Technical School in Washington, DC and attended the University of Maryland and the University of Cincinnati, studying Mechanical, Chemical and Aeronautical Engineering. He was employed at Ourisman Chevrolet in Marlow Heights, MD as a manager/salesman and at Fitzgerald Auto Mall in Annapolis, MD as a salesman. Mr. Wright served his country in the Pacific Theatre as a P-38 Lightning Fighter Pilot in the Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1946, receiving the 13th Air Force Air, WWII Victory, Air, American Campaign, Philippine Liberation, Bronze Star, Asiatic Pacific, Sharpshooter, and Good Conduct medals. Mr. Wright fought in the New Guinea, Bismarck Archipelago, Western Pacific, Southern Philippines, Luzon, China Offensive and Borneo battles/campaigns. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Methodist Church in Washington, DC and Woodland Beach Community Church in Mayo, MD. He was an avid numismatist and also enjoyed collecting stamps. 


He was the beloved husband of Pastor Martha S. Wright, whom he married October 23, 1948 and father of Robert Maynard Wright, Jr. of Annapolis, MD, Richard Sinnard Wright of Annapolis, MD, James Phillip Wright of Lafayette, CA and Scott Bennett Wright of Crofton, MD. He is also survived by one grandson, Shane B. Wright, and a grandaughter, Caith E. Wright of Lafayette, CA. 


Friends are invited to Bob's life celebration at Woodland Beach Community Church, 1716 Shady Side Drive, Edgewater, MD 21037 from 2 until time of service which will begin at 3 p.m. Reception immediately following at the church. Inurnment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Alton â€œPopsâ€ C. Graybill, 74, a 19-year resident of West River, MD and previously Roger's Heights in Hyattsville, MD died on October 16, 2009 of a sudden heart attack at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD. 


Born February 12, 1935 in Thompsontown, PA to the late Holmes C. Graybill and Margaret Graybill Stimeling, he graduated from Greenwood High School in Millerstown, PA in 1953 and attended the United States Army Radiology School from 1953 to 1956. Mr. Graybill served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959, obtaining the rank of SP5. He was employed from 1963 to 2002 as a Radiology Technician at the V.A. Hospital in Washington, D.C. and was also a real estate agent from 1968 to 2007. He was director of the CYO league for St. Bernard's Church in the 1980's and was also a coach in the CYO league. Alton was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in West River, MD and he enjoyed gardening, repairing equipment, puzzles, hunting, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. 


He was the beloved husband of Pat Graybill, whom he married in 1964; father of Michael Graybill of Edgewater, MD, Jeffrey Graybill of Tracy's Landing, MD and Lynnette Baker of Dunkirk, MD; brother of Ralph Stimeling of Camp Hill, PA, Fred Stimeling of Richfield, PA, Ruth Leister of McAlisterville, PA and the late Florane Stake, who died in 2002. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ray, Bridget, Rachel, Alec and Will.

Lillian Cecelia Raybold Green passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Villa Rosa Nursing Home. She was born on March 28, 1914 , the daughter of Roger and Blanche Myers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert L. Raybold, Sr. and Raymond Green; sons, Robert L. Raybold, Jr. and John Paul Raybold, daughter, Linda L. Summers and sister, Betty Sisco. Surviving are daughters, Joan C. Raybold, Barbara J. Sagan (Nicholas) and Joyce L. Jean Anne Ward, 78, of Annapolis, MD died at Mandrin Chesapeake Hospice House in Harwood, MD on October 13, 2009 of Alzheimer's Disease after a 12-year illness. 


Born November 13, 1930 in Washington, D.C. to the late Martha and Elmer Richter, she was employed as a clerk at the Anne Arundel County Department of Assessment and Taxation and was also a homemaker. She was a member of St. Anne's Church in Annapolis, MD. Jean loved her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Ward enjoyed sewing, reading, pets, bird watching, baking, science and painting. 


She was the beloved wife of Lester L. Ward, whom she married November 23, 1950; mother of Michael S. Ward of Annapolis, MD, Lester L. Ward, Jr. of Huntingtown, MD, Laura K. Ward of Annapolis, MD, Mary C. Dindino of Prince Frederick, MD and Jean A. Jewell of Lothian, MD; and sister of Joseph Richter of Clinton, MD. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.

Edward M. Kelly, age 80, a resident of Annapolis, MD for many years, died on October 10, 2009 at Anne Arundel Medical Center due to various health issues. Ed was born on September 4, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA. He served in the US Navy from 1946 to 1966 and while in the Navy, Ed travelled to Istanbul, Greece, the Philippine and Hawaiian Islands. After retiring from the US Navy, Ed worked in the medical department at Bethlehem Steel as a physician's assistant and then as the supervisor in receipt control for the Dep't. of Defense at the US Naval Academy. Ed was a member of the Fleet Reserve Assn. for over 50 years and the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Lourdes Council #4606, in Locust Point. Ed was an avid reader and enjoyed music, collecting lighthouses and travelling abroad. Ed was the beloved husband of Marie A. Kelly; father of Barbara Kelly of Annapolis, MD, Patti Kelly of Abingdon, MD and Michael Kelly of Annapolis, MD; brother of Kate Fairman of Vero Beach, FL; brother in law of Earl Fairman of Vero Beach, FL, also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Samuel passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2009; leaving to grieve his parents Samuel, Sr. and Dorothy, one sister, Carla F. Fair (Jim), four children, Erica F. Conrad, Janine F. Countee, Samuel Lewis Foggie III and Lewis Foggie, four loving aunts and numerous cousins and friends who will miss him. Erma Irene Hooker Brownlee 


Born in Lee County, Sanford, NC, to the late Thompson and Eliza Hooker on October 27, 1918. She moved from life to glory on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Civista Medical Center, La Plata, Maryland. 


She was preceded in death by one brother Caudell Hooker; grandsons James, Andre, Thomas Scott; and, granddaughters Debra and Sadie. 


Erma retired in 1984 as a Home Health Aide, after helping those who could not care for themselves. She joined the Ark of Safety Church, Upper Marlboro, Md. and due to her illness was unable to attend regularly, however, she was faithful at watching church television and reading her bible. Erma was most thankful to the Lord for granting her a good life and the beautiful years she spent with her family. 


Erma was affectionately known to all as â€œMa Ermaâ€. She loved to cook soul food dishes and bake coconut, pumpkin and carrot cakes. During the holidays her home was always filled with the fragrance of love. 


Ma Erma enjoyed doing crafts and making beautiful works of art that she enjoyed giving to her family and friends. 


She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Tommie Elizabeth McIver, Sandra Kay Dent; three son in laws, Thomas â€œBubbaâ€ McIver, Howard Dent and Charles Frink (Emmajean); grandchildren, Tonya Cowan, Zariya â€œTweetyâ€ Cowan-Omar, Norma Barr, Daryl McIver (Hollie) and Carol McIver; a devoted great- granddaughter, Tyquesha King, nineteen great-grandchildren and nineteen great- great grand children. An extended family: Michael, Mark, Matthew and Daniel Eversberg, Michelle Eversberg Cuttler and Denise Eversberg Rau, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a host of relatives and friends. We all will deeply miss her.

Russell W. Bishop, 66, of Millersville, MD, passed away October 6, 2009, after a 4-year battle with multiple myeloma. 


Born September 9, 1943 in Laurel, MD to the late Claude Bishop and Maude Bishop Lawrence, he graduated from Northwestern High School in 1961. 


He worked for Government Printing Office for several years, then the Department of Navy, where he eventually became Director of Printing at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. He retired from the government in 1998. Russ enjoyed golf, camping, traveling and home projects. He was a member of the Good Sam Traveling Americans group. He loved and adored being with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Bishop and step-son, Darren Williams. 


He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Bishop of Millersville, MD; devoted father of Donna Parkinson of Glen Burnie, MD and Michelle Bakeris of Ellicott City, MD; stepfather of Jennifer Nevins of Centreville, MD, Andrea Eckles of Rosemont, MD and Eric Williams, Bristolville, OH; brother of Robert Lawrence of Laurel, MD, Diana Stephenson of Boonsboro, MD and Donald Bishop of Silver Spring, MD; he is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Mayk Baghdadlian, of Annapolis, Maryland, died on October 6, 2009 of natural causes. 


Born on July 27, 1974 in Damascus, Syria. Mayk is survived by his loving parents, Eugenie & Khajadour Baghdadlian & brother Ouhanes (John) Baghdadlian, owners of La Belle Cezanne Jewelers in Annapolis, MD. Mayk enjoyed cooking, sports & traveling but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mayk touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity. Charles Edward Howard, â€œChuckâ€ to his friends and â€œEddieâ€ to his family, was born January 6, 1929 in Baltimore, MD and lived in Annapolis the final years of his life. Making a career with the US Navy, he and his family lived in many places around the United States. He retired after 20 years of active duty and completed another 20 plus years as a civilian working in Crystal City, Va. Chuck met his wife in a bowling center and the two of them made bowling a family tradition. Chuck served as the President of the Western Chesapeake Bay Young American Bowling Alliance, Director for the Greater Baltimore Bowling Association, was a certified lane inspector and coach. He is predeceased by his wife Doris, father Luther Elmer Howard, mother Mary Parr and brother Bobby Howard. He is survived by his siblings Jim, Tommy and Jack Howard; children Dean Edward Howard, Denise Millett and Doreen Shahan; six grandchildren, John Charles and David Yepsen, Shannon Yepsen Taylor, Dean Howard, Sumner and Michael Shahan; and two great grandsons Dylan Taylor and Patrick Edward Yepsen. Sherry Lynn Godhard, 61, a 23-year resident of Harwood, died on October 4, 2009 at her home surrounded by family, following a 2-year battle with cancer. She was born on May 8, 1948 in Arlington, VA to Richard and Joy (Jordan) McConaughy who currently reside in Melbourne, FL. She attended the University of Maryland and spent 30 years working for the U.S. Postal Service in Edgewater, MD. She loved the ocean, gardening and, most of all, her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, James Patrick Godhard of Harwood; two sons, Chad Jordan Godhard of Gainesville, GA and Trent Patrick Godhard of North Beach, MD; one daughter, Amy Starr White of Greenville, SC; one brother James Richard McConaughy of Merritt Island, FL and four grandchildren.

Joseph â€œBobâ€ Robert Howlin, Jr., 65, a 40-year resident of Mayo, MD died on October 2, 2009 at the University of Maryland-Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD after a month long illness. He was involved in a motorcycle accident on the Bay Bridge on September 6, 2009. 


Born October 26, 1943 in Washington, D.C., to Rita Marie Howlin and the late Joseph Robert Howlin, Sr.,who died in 2001, he graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School and retired from Giant Food Stores in 2001. He helped run Howlin Seafood in Landover alongside his parents as a teenager and young man. Bob was a truckdriver for several trucking companies before owning his own crab boat. He loved crabbing and fishing with his wife and grandchildren. He loved driving and sightseeing with his wife who he called "My Bride". Prior to his accident, he drove children to schools and churches while working for VVS Charter Services. He owned a campground lot in Fredericksburg, Va,, where the whole family visited year round. He loved his 2004 Anniversary editon Harley Davidson motocycle. His grandchildren were his passion. His memberships included the Knights of Pythias, Lodge 8 in Edgewater, MD, Sons of the American Legion, Post 226 in Mayo, MD, American Legion Riders, Harley Owners Group (HOG) and retired Teamsters, Local 730. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, crabbing, vacationing with his family and was an avid Harley rider. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter. 


He was the beloved husband of Sharon Rae Howlin, whom he married January 19, 1963; father of Joseph Robert Howlin, III of Riva, MD, Robin Lynn Wright of Brooksville, FL, Deborah Sue Shaw of Kent Island, MD and Buffy Ellis of Edgewater, MD; and brother of Sheila Messineo of Edgewater, MD and Carole Ann Fox of Crownsville, MD. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Kelly J. Wright, Christopher M(CJ) Wright, Jr., and Matthew Wright all of Brooksville, Fl., Caitlin M-Rae Berner of Crofton, Nicole M., Mikaela M. and Michael A. Ellis, Jr., all of Edgewater, Julia Howlin of Riva, Ciarra Noone, Shane Noone, both of Kent Island and Stephen S. Baer, II of Kent Island and one great-granddaughter, Sabrina Jones of Brooksville, Fl. He is also survived by three sons-in-law: Kevin Shaw of Kent Island, Christopher Wright, Sr., of Brookville,Fl. and Michael Ellis of Edgewater; one daughter-in-law, Janice Howlin of Riva; a brother-in-law, Walter O. Blackburn, Jr. of Brucetown, Va and four nieces and two nephews. 


Friends are invited to Bob's Life Celebration at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Road, Edgewater, MD on Friday, October 9 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. A Memorial Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 515 Loch Haven Road, Edgewater, MD on Saturday, October 10 at 11am with a Celebration of Life immediately following at Knights of Phythias, Edgewater, Md. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 236, Edgewater, MD 21037. Bob was very, very proud that his son, Bobby,Jr. was Chief of the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Dept. and his grandson, Stephen Baer was a firefighter for Annapolis City.
